Windows Live Mail was working fine and then all of a sudden it stopped syncing emails from Hotmail. It has continued to correctly sync (send and receive mail) for my other accounts. When I try to sync my hotmail account I get the following error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (alexsmookler) account.

Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

I have tried deleting the account and re-adding it and then I get this message:

Windows Live Mail is synchronizing this account. Check back in a few minutes to read your messages.

I keep checking back but nothing changes. My emails do not come in and this message continues to be displayed.

I have also tried "repairing" Windows Live Mail via the control panel on my computer. This did not do anything to help the problem.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hotmail not working in Live Mail  -  keep getting Server Error 3204 message.  Tried Microsoft Fix it 9833174 and, although it said it had fixed the problem it hasn't.

I am using Windowslive mail for a long time. Recently I changed the password in my Hotmail account. Since then I am not able to sign in the Windows Live mail. It takes me to Sign in window, where I type in my Hotmail id and password. This is shown to be wrong. Do I need to change any settings in the Windows? Please help. I am in serious problem. Thanks a lot!

A Kaushik

The primary hotmail account which i have used for years via your Windows Live Software Version 2009 Build 14.0.8117.0416 has now stopped sending or receiving email.

i use three separate hotmail accounts all of which are configured to run through your Windows Live desktop software.

Two of these three hotmail accounts continue to function as normal.

Only the primary account has now begun failing to send or receive email.

The error message received reads as follows.

I was having a problem signing into my Hotmail and found out that Microsoft froze my account due to some unusual activity on it. I called answerdesk at microsoft and they charged me $256.00 to fix the problem. (It was going back to my old email address that I haven't used for quite sometime(a shaw address). They didn;t fix the problem so I took my computer to the computer store and they removed all the viruses and cleaned up the computer but I am still having problems getting into my Hotmail. I have filled in the form 3 times, that is provided,  giving them all kinds of information but they still wont unlock my account so that I can get into my Hotmail. My address is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I hope I am explaining this right. I opened a new outlook account under *** Email address is removed for privacy *** as a back up. and I also have a gmail account as another back up. Please help me retrieve my old Hotmail account as I have all my contacts and general info on there. Please contact me. I have a # that I can be reached at too which is <TP removed> if u need more information . Thank u so very much.

These threads are all locked from what I can see, so I'm starting my own.

I have a Windows 8 Phone, a Windows 8.1 Desktop, a Windows 8.1 Laptop, a Surface RT and a Surface Pro.

My Outlook 2013 is reporting I have too many devices.  I've gone to the KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2802703/en-us and I've filled out the form a couple of times, but no 24 hour reply (I just filled it out again).  Yes, I understand about spam filtering and junk folder.

I do not have an excessive amount of folders.

I'm syncing all my Hotmail on my desktop and my laptop.  I'm only syncing a few days on the other devices.

I've removed my outlook 2013 account from my desktop and my laptop.  Please reset my sync device count.

It's sad that this is an issue without better support.  If we can only sync x number of devices, then don't let x+1 connect.  Give us the ability to see how many devices we have (we used to be able to see individual trusted devices, but now it's hidden and your only option is to delete all of them and start from scratch.  That's ridiculous.  Bring back the device by device management of 2010-2011 that Hotmail used to support.

Please reset the number of devices on my outlook sync.  My email is @live.com domain if that helps.

Thank you.
