my desk top is upside down

I use Microsoft Live Mail.  I'm having some issues with this software on my desktop computer.

The first question is:  When I highlight an e-mail that I want to delete and then hit the delete key, the e-mail should disappear and move to the delete mailbox but that is not occurring until I go out of Live Mail and then go back in.  This issue does not occur on my laptop computer.

The second question is that when I hit the Send/Receive button a the top of the screen to refresh and bring in any outstanding e-mails, it shows the number of e-mails that are new but they don't appear in the inbox until I go out of Live Mail and then back in again.  Help!!!

MSN messenger has been loading onto my desktop for several months now. I have gone into my install/uninstall programs and messenger is not listed there so I don't understand how it is continuing to load. I don't like msn messenger and have never had it on this computer before, but I would like very much to make it go away.
How can I see what is in my in box wthout opening hotmail
On some received emails the senders email / reply address is missing - which means there's no address to reply to. The sender is in my address book, but on the received email frame a '?' appears next to the senders name. Clicking to open the contact  view the email address doesn't link through to the contact/sender and only the senders name is displayed. The address is only missing on the Outlook 2011 desktop application - the senders email / reply address shows correctly when viewing the email in Outlook Web access. How can I resolve this - Cheers!
