I recently purchased a MacBook Pro Retina. But I don't see mij iCloud contacts in mij Outlook contacts. I checked the box in outlook with says that it would sync with contacts, but this does not work, it only lists 1 contact, "me"  .....

I read on this forum that you can import contacts, this is not my preferred option, because you will not always be up to date ... But also when I try this it doesn't work. What I do is:
In Finder I go to applications -> then drag de adressbook icon into the contacts in Outlook, but then nothing happens ...

Can you please help me?
Hi,

I hope somebody can point me in the right direction.

I have outlook 2011 installed on a macbook pro .

no problems with settings , hiding the unwanted folder and so forth to get my gmail apps account set up .

i do have a couple of aliases set up and the folders/labels are working in outlook too.

the problem i am having is when i want to reply to an email received by the alias email account  or compose an email it will only send from the primary email account and i can not find any option to select one of my alias email adresses as the sender

Any ideas anybody

Thanks

I have several email accounts using different servers. I would like to be able to have a single calendar so that all appointments I receive will be entered into a single calendar

I am installing Home and Business 2011 on a MacBook Air (10.6.8). The machine has Entourage 2008 on it and is connect to Exchange 2003 Server. I want to install Office 2011 and not use any of the Entourage data. In fact I will point it to Exchange online. However after I have installed Office 365, I get the error "Could not change to that identity. An unknown error has occurred in Outlook.

I have tried pressing alt and opening outlook and rebuilding the database however it will not go pass step 1.

I have managed to get this work in another Mac however this one and another get the error. The version of Office 2011 is 14.2.2 right out of  the box.

Thanks

Barry

After installing and later reinstalling Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 on my new MacBook Pro, my Outlook worked fine.

However, yesterday I reinstalled again using the same DVD on the same computer and Outlook now no longer works.

It says: “Could not change to that identity. An unknown error has occurred in Outlook”.

When I press "OK", it then tells me to "Select an identity".

There is only one identity showing, which is "Main identity".

When I press "OK", it goes back to the previous error message, and so on, backwards and forwards between the two messages, and Outlook never opens.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Jonathan

Split From: "MAC OS X 10.7.3 and MS Outlook 2011 - "Could not change to that identity" error"

I've gotten the same Outlook error with a brand new (as of today) Mac and a brand new install of Office 11 for Mac.

None of the solutions has helped.  I've rebuilt the database, deleted all identities, updated Office, tried Outlook with a new user account (for the Mac) and moved the Office Identities folder to the desktop.

I still get the same error with Outlook.  All of the other applications launch OK.

Apparently, then, the issue is not with my User folder, but with the MS Office files themselves.

I can't think of anything else to do except uninstall Office and start over, or find an email client that might actually launch and work.

This is beyond extremely frustrating.

can't find anything (malware, spyware etch) using kaspersky, mcAffe or norton.
I need Outlook.  Can I purchase an upgrade to  Home and Business?  When I follow the instructions I found for this it seems just to charge the full price for Home and Business, not an upgrade fee.
Suddenly all one-day, annual and other recurring events like birthdays were duplicated in my Outlook 2011 after a sync.
I spend hours cleaning the calendar and when I sync again... after a couple of syncs again they are duplicated!!!
I also try rebuilding the identity and... the same problem...
Besides, iTunes syncing is way too slow and is taking a long time to sync calendar and contact... maybe there is a corrupt file somewhere...
any thoughts????
