In the meantime I have tried to build a new identity as describe above, BUT I have always the same problem. Now the file is more little than 6 GB, now about 5.6 BG !!!
Microsoft MUST fix this problem!
I don't know why nobody consider this problem from many many times!
Hi.
MacBookPro Retina
Mavericks 10.9
Office 14.3.8
Every time I light on my mac, without open Outlook, the system rebuild the identity and wait a lot of time before the blue progressive bar works. I have an SSD HD, I don't understand why!

Using Outlook ver 14.3.8 (130913) and OS 10.6.8

I have 3 mail accounts that are in my drop down menu of inbox but after pressing Send/Receive all the subfolders disappear and I am left with one inbox that is my gmail account.

The other 2 accounts are exchange accounts - Another co-worker has a similar setup but is not experiencing this issue.

Has anyone had this issue and if so, solution??
I use Outlook 2011 on the mac. Recently I went to change my email accounts and what I get when I choose tools ->accounts is nothing but a white splash screen. The same occurs when I attempt to open preferences. I get a white screen as if the software has crashed. I have attempted to rebuild the database as well as reinstall office for mac but nothing happens the same issue appears. Can someone provide a suggestion.
I want to change from a Pop3 to IMAP account. I use Outlook for MAC 2011. I want to change from POP3 to IMAP without having to get a new email address. I want to keep my existing one. Is this possible?
Perodically, all of the current email stored on the mail server is downloaded.   I've did a fresh install of Mavericks and Office 2011 and have the latest patches installed.  It is annoying to download the complete inbox every couple of hours.  The only other choice is to have outlook download all email from the mail server, but this does not allow me to view from iPhone, etc.
Hello,

I can not get Outlook to display mail. I have added the account, and in the task bar section it shows "downloading "X" of "X" messages", but while this happens no messages actually populate the inbox. Some of my folders have the blue/while candy stripe rolling and never actually connect to download.

I can send emails. When I go to "Accounts" is says my Exchange account is online. I have tried the empty cache trick...didn't work. I have re-added the account....no difference.

OS is 10.9
Exchange version is 2007

Thanks for any help

I cannot send email from both Mac Outlook 2011 and also via the iMac Mail client. Any ideas... I just set it up this month and no go. I need to use imap.
I was running Office:Mac Outlook on my MacBook Pro and the hard drive failed. Prior to this, I had been saving emails that I wanted to refer to later in a folder called "retain for future use" in my Outlook folders. After the hard drive failed, I was able to get an Apple Store Genius to get me access to all my data on the drive, even though I cannot boot the MacBook Pro from that drive. So I copied to an external drive, all the Microsoft User information, thinking I could find my saved emails somewhere within. I have not been able to ascertain where Microsoft hides saved emails for Outlook. I purchased a MacBook Air, and a new copy of Office:Mac, since my old version would not run on the new machine.

My question is this:

How can I find those old saved emails among the data I have copied onto my external drive, and merge them into my present copy of Outlook? It would be really easy if I had left copies on the email server, but I did not. The only copies that exist are in the folder in Outlook, trapped on a computer that won't boot from its hard drive, and the "hidden" copies I put in an external drive, assuming I would be able to locate them and restore them. Please help.
