Hi,

Really urgent question!

Every time I try to send messages from my accounts (I have three), this error message pops up:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Info Robertboysshipping account. The email server returned an error.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR
Server: 'mail.robertboysshipping.co.uk'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC90
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

It is the same for all the accounts (...@robertboysshipping.co.uk). It was working fine this morning and then suddenly, for no reason I can see, this keeps happening. I haven't changed any of the server settings in the accounts. The only thing I can think of is that we attempted to add two more accounts to the ...@robertboysshipping, neither of which are working properly/work intermittently - I've sent some test emails from these new accounts to the ones we normally use. Could it have affected the existing accounts?

I've tried moving all the message in my inbox to another file then transferring them back but it hasn't helped at all.

It's really urgent as this is a work email and none of us are receiving any correspondence.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks!

i have the same problems

Unable to send or receive messages for the Birdsathome (vogelopvang) account. Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server using secure password authentication. Contact your email provider and verify that it supports secure password authentication. To change this logon setting, in the folder list, right-click on the account name, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu. In the Properties dialog, click the Servers tab, and then under Incoming Mail Server, select a logon option.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR Invalid command.
Server: 'mail.birdsathome.nl'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC18
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

i have contact with my provider and we can't fix the problem

Split from an unrelated thread

I have tried all the mentioned paths and nothing is working. My email server is giving me the same server as before and it wont let me receive or send emails but when I log into Hotmail I can see all emails and im still receiving all emails on my phone as well.

Recently started getting this error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the New Sky account. The email server returned an error.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [SYS/TEMP] problem retrieving message.
Server: 'pop.tools.sky.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC90
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

I note that many other people have reported similar problem but I can't find any solutions reported.

My system is Windows 7 64 bit.

I have several sky email addresses and the others all continue to work without problems

I'm working with a company that has their own email server. I have always used hotmail, and sometimes I missed their emails because it do not come straight to my iphone.

I asked them to add my hotmail address to my company's email (or to merge my info) so I can received the work email to hotmail, and they suggest to do a POP in my hotmail account.

What is a POP? Will my private emails will be compromised? Can they hack my info by doing it?

Please help!

Thanks,
Antillana
In previous versions of Windows Mail, I have been able to set the preferences so that messages would be deleted from my email server (in this case, EarthLink) when they were downloaded into Windows. I'm probably missing something obvious here, but I can't find a way to do that in Windows Live Mail.  As it is now, the messages are downloaded but remain on the server until I go into the server's site and manually delete them.  How do I set Windows Live Mail to delete messages from the server?

I have Windows Live Mail on a Windows 8.1 computer that suddenly won't send or receive.  The actual error message follows

Unable to send or receive messages for the Sbcglobal (rpnic3) account. The email server returned an error.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR Cannot connect to POP server 98.138.12.111 (98.138.12.111:110), NB connect error 1460
Server: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC90
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

My web mail works fine. My other computer with Windows Live Mail also works fine. Settings on both computers appear the same. I removed and added my email account to no avail.
Thanks for your help
Perodically, all of the current email stored on the mail server is downloaded.   I've did a fresh install of Mavericks and Office 2011 and have the latest patches installed.  It is annoying to download the complete inbox every couple of hours.  The only other choice is to have outlook download all email from the mail server, but this does not allow me to view from iPhone, etc.
