What can I do?
I've exported my 2013 emails on my IMac to an .olm file. When I try to import this file on to my MacBook Air I immediately get a message saying that I have stopped the import, The fie size is4Gb. I've trying to export it a smaller file (eg by just selecting the inbox) but this doesn't seem to make any difference. I've also created a new identity on the Macbook but this doesn't work either.

This is a real pain as I like to organise my emails by year. It was not a problem with .pst files when my main computer was a PC.

I would like to know how to show a recurring appointment as having taken place, so the correct date for the next appointment due appears.  I tried clicking on delete, but that deletes the complete series, not the appointment that has just taken place.  There seems to be no facility to do this.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,

Im a regular user of Microsoft Outlook, however have recently changed the operating system from Microsoft to Apple. However for my business purpose i will continue to use Microsoft office products including the email program - Microsoft outlook 2011.

however there are many challenges Im facing while using the Microsoft Outlook. One of that is with respect to creation of Rule to work on my computer.

Problem definition:

- I'm using MS outlook 2011 for MAC and have configured Microsoft exchange program.
- I have limited server space available for my user ID (100 MB) and hence need to copy all my mails to my local folder to save the space in the mail server, however I intend to keep mails in the service, since I also browse the mails on my mobile device. If remove the mails from the server, Im not able to access mails on my mobile device.
- I check my mails via MS outlook at the same time from Mobile device.
- Have added the exchange account in MS Outlook 2011 in MAC.
- Have created a rule for copying all my items on server to my local folder in one of the PST file as and when I download the mails.
- the rule that I have created is very simple and am explaining the steps that I have taken to draft the mail
- I delete the mails from the server once in a day so that I have enough server space for new emails and at the same time I can access them from mobile device"

The following steps were taken to draft the rule.

1. Clicked on the rule Icon.
2. clicked on Create Rule.
3. Name the rule as Inbox Transfer
4. By default it says :When a new message arrives" and selected "if all conditions are met"
5. From the first drop down selected "Account" then "is" "Account name"
6. Under "Do the Following TAB" Selected "Copy Message" then " Name of the folder where I wanted all my Items to be shifted as default Inbox". I intentionally selected Copy and not Move to ensure that mails are also available in the server so that I could access them on Mobile device as well.
7. Unchecked "Do not apply other rules to messages that meet these conditions
8. and have checked the enabled Tab and clicked OK

Now when new mails are arriving in my mail account, the rules copies them to the specific folder "Default Inbox created in one of the PST". However now starts the challenge for me.

Request support for:

1. Whenever I write/Compose a new mail, or reply to any mail that is there in my default inbox created in one of the PST or either from the inbox in the server folder, all such mails are also copied into my default inbox folder in the PST.

what I believe that I created this rule for only those mails which are arriving in the server inbox (As mentioned in point number 4 above) (Once I start downloading into my outlook), but should have not been applied on the mails that Im sending from outlook.

Please help me in defining the rule for intended purpose. have tried other options as well, however everytime I send mails, they are also copied in the local folder which I don't want. The mails that I send are anyways available in the sent folder, which I can manually copy to my local sent folders.

Pl suggest the steps to help me define the correct rule.

Thanks.
SauSu.

Outlook for Mac 2011:  I've seen this happen quiet a few times, I attempt to file a thread of messages to an existing folder (NOT a folder within the Inbox) and after the UI indicates the move is complete (messages disappear one by one), some or all of the messages have disappeared completely!  They are not in the destination folder, nor are they still in the inbox.  I know they were not "misfiled" into the wrong destination folder because sometimes the first message in the thread is in the destination folder and all the rest are missing.

Has anyone else seen this happen, and what can be done about it? It's not reasonable to expect that every time I file a message I should have to go look to see if it really got filed or whether it has disappeared into the ether.

How can I get it back?
