Office 365 is now the economical and probably preferred way forward for SaaS and private home use. Thus far, I have been able to sort out the home computers with Office 365 and have all the apps working without issue (although the PCs have been a nightmare).

So far, so good.

Now the issue. As Mac users, we are all familiar with Sync Services which has been around for a long time, but was never going to last long, and after Lion, I was surprised to still see it in Mountain Lion. I was not surprised when Mavericks dropped it, but obviously Microsoft was. I say this because there is now no way to sync iPads or iPhones without spending a load of cash in the process. This means that Outlook is virtually useless. Contacts, Calendar and To Do lists just don't migrate or copy and unless you have access to an MS Exchange server, this is not going to change.

Don't panic (I thought) we have a BT account and BT has just migrated to Office 365 - just have to change to that email system and off we go!

No. It does not work either.

So here we are, Office 365 installed, machines ready to go, but completely isolated form the mobile world and unable to sync our data using Outlook 2011 or Outlook 2013.

I find it astounding to find out that what is supposed to be a flagship product for MS is so woefully inadequate nearly three years after the product was launched. Sync Services was going to die anyway (as anyone with an Apple Developer's Account would have known) so this is also something that should at least have thrown up a few alarm bells at MS central.

Not wishing to shell out any more money for third party services, how do others go about syncing data or have they just given up?
Outlook on my Mac has been acting up for the last days, namely generating very high CPU loads. I have tried a couple of things, such a rebuilding the Identity, but nothing has helped. However I have found that if I set Outlook to "offline" the high CPU load disappears, with Outlook returning to 1.7% or so from 72%.

This behaviour results in my MBA running pretty hot and depletes the battery way too quickly. Note I'm using OSX 10.9.1.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance.
I have emptied the folder of deleted items in the folder Deleted Items > On My Computer
Can I get them back ?
Hi,
I have a couple of clients both using Outlook 2011 on their mac's which have been connecting to exchange without issue until last week when some updates were applied to the exchange server.
Now their outlook will connect/disconnect from exchange every few seconds and when trying to send an email they are deposited directly into the drafts folder.
The issue occurs both while in the office and connected to the domain, and also when trying to send mail from an outside connection using http proxy connection for exchange.

Server is running Windows Server Standard SP2
Exchange is version 8.03.0342.000 with Rollup 12 installed

The updates applied to exchange just before the issues arose are: (aside from definition updates)
KB2893984
KB890830

Is it likely for any of these to affect the connectivity for macs?  Does anyone else have another suggestion?

Thanks.
I would like to eliminate from my Outlook for Mac (2011) a couple of thousand old emails. I don't want to eliminate all emails. Or even, necessarily, an unbroken line of emails (email headers, I guess is the correct terminology). But, in some cases, there may be 100 or 200 emails in a row that need to go, followed by a gap of two or three emails to keep, followed by another 50, etc. etc.

In other words, without painfully clicking them one by one, is there a way to do larger highlights so I can do a block delete?

Macbook Pro w/Outlook 2011.  User has one (of many) recurring meetings he accepted (a weekly meeting) and it shows fine in his Outlook calendar (setup for Exchange).

This one recurring meeting does NOT show up on the users' iPhone or in OWA (meaning it is not on the Exchange server).

How can I get this one recurring meeting to sync (or at least get moved) to his calendar on the Exchange server so it can sync to his iPhone?

Asking the person who originated the meeting to re-invite is not an option.

Thank you.
When I try and install Office 365 update I get prompted to close applications.  I close all applications but can't seem to close "Microsoft Alert Daemon" & "SyncServiceAgent" - both Outlook related applications that I don't see as being open.  This prevents me from updating Office 365.
I want to make a back up copy of a folder, which includes one sub folder, from the "on my computer" folder. This is because the folders contain copies of correspondence over a four year period on a legal matter which has now been settled. I want to delete the files from " on my computer" but keep copies of everything on an external drive just in case, at some time in the future, I need to refer to them.

I have tried to do this but have got nowhere. I did manage to copy everything but all the correspondence was then dated the day of the transfer and it was impossible to find individual documents or attachments. Ideally I would like to create a single file containing everything and then, if it is necessary, load the file into Outlook, deal with the query, and then  store the revised file on a separate drive just in case it is needed again.

Can anyone help me on this please?
I purchased Office for Mac 2011 from Best Buy about 18 months ago.
I installed and used it, except I chose to NOT use the Outlook, opting to use Mac's iMail instead.

I've now decided to move to Outlook, and cannot get it to work.
I typed in the product key from the original package, which worked fine when I first used it.
But now I get this error message:

The product key is not valid. Make sure that you entered the correct key.  If the key doesn't work, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support.

How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Jason Beighley

I use Office Outlook for mac 2011 to organise my email & calendar. Since updating to OS X Mavericks I have not been able to sync the calendar to my iPhone. What do I need to do to get the calendars syncing again?
