This has happened to me a few times now and I'm starting to get really annoyed with it!

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 4G (I9305) with the painful Outlook app installed. When my device has been restarted (or it's accidentally gone into safe mode after a restart and I've had to come out of safe mode and back into 'normal' mode again) my Outlook app has wiped/lost all of my emails/contacts/calendar details and I have to re-sync everything again - which takes ages and saps up a load of my data allowance. This has happened maybe 6 times now, 2 of them being in the last week. It doesn't happen every time I restart the phone, just every now and again but surely the app shouldn't be losing all of this information causing me to re-sync. I don't understand why it just 'disappears'. Has anybody else faced similar issues? It's a puzzling and highly annoying predicament!

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer!

Emails not in folders on my MSN account sync but those in folders do not. A Samsung rep checked my Galaxy s3 settings and assured me that the problem is not with the phone.
I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and synced it with both gMail and Hotmail. Everything is working fine, except that now my Hotmail contacts are getting altered. I think it's something to do with the syncing process.

CONTACT EMAIL BEFORE ALTERATION: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

CONTACT EMAIL AFTER ALTERATION: "Bob Smith" <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>

When this happens, Hotmail's own email system doesn't recognize the altered addresses. That means I can't use my built-in contacts to originate emails. I can go to the People screen and edit the contacts back to the "before" state, and then they work fine. But pretty soon they get altered again. I'm pretty sure it's a sync problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.

P.S. The contact alteration only shows up in my iMac desktop Hotmail account, which I access with Google Chrome. The contacts synced to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 don't get altered.

Hi there,

I recently got a samsung galaxy tablet 10.1 version.  I set up the Exchange settings, and it keeps changing to bay-m.hotmail.com.  The problem then is that it doesnt sync new emails.  The most recent one that it displays is from 3 weeks ago, and it is nowhere near downloading all messages.  I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion about how I can set up my hotmail on my tablet.  I have set it up on my samsung galaxy S3 mobile phone, and it works great.  But for some reason, the settings dont work on the tablet.  On my phone, the setting is m.hotmail.com.  I tried putting that into the tablet, and it keeps switching to the bay version.  I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. .... I have tried sending emails to myself, and the emails send ok....they just dont show up on my phone in the inbox, no matter how many times i refresh or sync.

If someone could let me know, that would be of GREAT help!

Thanks.

Nathan

I recently was forced to accept a Samsung Galaxy 4G as an insurance replacement for my lost HTC Sensation.  Outlook.com was installed on the HTC and functioned without issue.

On the Samsung, Outlook.com reports that "HTML is not supported" and displays the message as plain text.

If I use Outlook.com to forward the email to my gmail.com account all works fine.  Outlook.com on android appears to have and issue.  I;ll try here before taking the app off my phone.

Thanks

Hi there,

I've had my phone replaced by Samsung on Saturday and since then, have had no such luck in syncing my mail via hotmail/Outlook with the Outlook app when I am not on wifi. On wifi works fine, but using Mobile Data it just wont let me.

I've had 3 very painful conversations with Telstra who insist they cannot help.

I am able to download my mail through the normal Samsung mail app while on 4G but I prefer Outlook, which won't download.

I'm hoping you can help me?

Cheers

Have the Outlook on my Samsung Galaxy S4 but it's not sync'd with the computer.

If I work the email on my computer, I have to re-do everything on my phone and viceversa.

I called Microsoft and they told me to ask here, they didn't have an answer.

Anyone having the same problem?  How did you fix it?  The Outlook app only has 2 1/2 starts, doesn't seem to be rated well.

Thanks!
