Can anyone advise whether this is a legitimate request or a scam.

We have had our hotmail account for about 11 years, and this is the first time I have encountered this problem. We use this account for our law firm. This morning I emailed some contacts from our contact list and shortly after I sent the email, I received an email stating my email failed to send. The message was from postmaster.mail.hotmail and the subject was delivery status notification (failure) Please help me fix this problem!

Received email saying I would be killed within 24 hours if I didn't reply to email.  I did not reply to it.  Printed it out and thinking about going to Police Department.

Received email from you? asking for my information , etc. otherwise account will be cancelled.  Is this from you?  Thanks

Here are some ways to help you manage your account after you reconfirm your account.
  1. Create an archive - Set up a folder on your PC’s hard drive where you can save large attachments. Then just delete them from your inbox. You’ll still have them and your inbox will be that much smaller.
  2. Make your filters work for you- Did you know you can set up your Hotmail account to immediately delete junk e-mail? Go to Options, and click Filters and reporting. Under the “Delete junk e-mail” section, select Immediately to delete junk e-mail right away. Once you’re finished, click Save and you’re done.
  3. Delete a bunch of mail at once- Go to your Junk and Deleted folders, and clear them out by clicking the “Empty” button in the action bar.
