I use Office for mac (version 14.2.4) running on Mountain Lion (version 10.8.2). Starting a couple of weeks ago I noticed Outlook repeatedly crashing, sometimes after starting/launching the program, or sometimes (most of the times) while trying to resend an email message. it just throws me away and tries to open again (followed by crashing again or not).

I do not believe I have changed anything, nor updated anything, giving a reason for crashing. A fact is that my database of emails (sent/received) is as big as 10 gigas given I work whith hundreds ofmclients who have,in my computers (one after the other, once I change model), their own Folder in which I archive their messages. In time the whole database (.pst / .olm) turn huge/heavy.

Questions to the Forum:

1. Is this problem usual?
2. Will it get worse?  up to now, it has been a little problem to me but I sorted out to live with it.
3. has Office 2011 CD (I do not have it anymore since I lost it while moving) a funtion called 'repair' or similar?
4. is there any other solution for this situation?

Please help!

kind regards!

Hi

I use WLM on a W7 x64 PC.

I have a recent problem with Newsgroups in WLM, it use to show thread all grouped under one header and I clicked on the + sign

beside the header to get the posts to expand and show separately, the click on the - sign to get the thread to close up again.

Where do I go to get the threads to show under one header again.

cheers

Daniel

I can only open some e-mails, while other indicate a yellow message 'something went wrong'? Reported the problem to Hotmail.
I keep getting a message in outlook saying: Character not allowed in mailbox name: '.'    It pops up every few minutes and i can't seem to resolve it, and it is getting really disruptive. It is linked to an IMAP email account i have with my old university set to download into outlook. Does anyone know how i can resolve this?

Everytime I go to my hotmail/live email account it makes my Windows Live Messenger sign out and then shut down.

I have two or three friends who forward e-mails to me containing pictures.  For some reason, the pictures are not viewable when I open their e-mails.  With other people, I have no problem viewing pictures.  Is there a setting I need to change to correct this?
This has been happening for at least a week. I used to just hit reply or reply all and the sender's name and topic would be filled in, along with the message I'm replying to. Lately, I get a blank email form, no names, topic or message, and even if I hit the "To" button to pull up my contacts, I cannot access my contacts ... nothing happens. I use Firefox and have not previously had a problem. I noticed the display for my Contacts has changed. Does this have anything to do with it? Are you updating the way Hotmail works?

I have problems with the "contacts". I cannot open the "contacts" . Since 2 weeks, if I press the button "Contacts", it tries for some seconds, then it says - there are problems - please tell microsoft, that there is a  problem. I always do, but nothing happens.

And if I start to write a new letter  to a person from the contact, I have to fill in the whole adress by myself. Even if I want to answer a mail and press "reply", I have to write the e-mail-adress by myself. Thats strange, isn`t it?
