I have Win 8 & Outlook 2013 with Gmail and get this error message:

Microsoft Outlook Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following: Too many simultaneous connections (Failure)

Sent messages do NOT appear in Sent Items folder, but have been sent.

Drafts disappear from Outlook, but if I log into Gmail they are there.

Deleted messages do not appear in Deleted Items folder.

"People" tab has five choices for My Contacts:

Contacts (This computer only) which is empty.

Contacts - *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which has addresses.

Contacts - *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which has addresses and seems to be a duplicate of the above.

Suggested Contacts which has incomplete addresses that seem to be from people to whom I sent messages.

Contacts - CMc3com@Gmail which is empty.

How do I consolidate My Contacts into one file and get Outlook to use its folders properly?

what is up with the imap server. it CONSTANTLY times out and SUCKS. important mail doesn't come through on my mac and when it does it's intermittent. Or it takes forever to send an email and the server is constantly downloading messages and now i'm getting tons of SPAM. WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO IMPLEMENT MICROSOFT. One more week and i'm dumping all of these accounts and going back to gmail. This is ridiculous.

Until yesterday all folders were sync´d fine. But today when the sync starts, everything it´s fine until the end of the process (91% aprox) when an error appears saying: can not connect to server imap-outlook.com. The issue seems to be only with Sent folder, as all other folders are sync´d ok.

Is there any issue with IMAP server? Thanks

I use outlook.com through IMAP and everytime I launch MS office 2007 I get an certificate prompt and have to click 'yes' to bypass it. I have installed the certificate to my PC but this doesn't resolve the issue.

my settings are as followed:

email address: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

imap server: imap-mail.outlook.com SSL on port 993

smtp server: smtp-mail.outlook.com Auto on port 25

Outgoing server requires authentication

I am using outlook 2007 client.

I have reduced my IE trust settings to LOW, this didn't fix the issue.

I have added the certificates, this didn't fix the issue.

I prevented the PC from requiring SSL authentication all together, this didn't fix the issue.

I tried setting up the above account without any SSL, the mail account wouldn't connect to the server!

Please advise this doesn't happen with my google IMAP email addresses!

To Whom it may concern,

I am trying to successfully connect my Mac Mail (MacOSX10.8.5) to Outlook.com's IMAP server.  I get folders successfully downloaded including Ads, Deleted, Junk and Sent, but never my Inbox.  The server settings are correct (that's why I can get those folders), but it seems that my Inbox may be too big to connect to?

I've researched various threads (below) without luck.

Can you assist?

Connection Doctor shows a successful connection, but the Activity Window consistently gets stuck "Fetching new mail" at the Opening mailbox... message.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

after migrating from POP to IMAP, I cannot access one of my live accounts from thunderbird client.

Both live accounts were changed from POP to IMAP, using imap-mail.outlook.com, IMAP/SSL/993.
One account works fine, for the other one the IMAP server returns:
  • "error 10. Server error. Please try again later."
on IMAP-login. I double-checked the password against the still working POP configuration. I double-
checked settings for any differences to the account working fine with IMAP.

I have Thunderbird logs that show two authentication types failing before TB gives up.

Both accounts can still be accessed via POP or web.

A similar issue was already reported here.

I'm very happy because of the new outlook.com IMAP protocol. So, my problem is that, when I want to download the mails from my ***@live.com e-mail address, I get "Login failed" message. I used the following options:
Incoming server type: IMAP4 (there is no simple IMAP)
IMAP server: imap-mail.outlook.com
IMAP port: 993
Secure connect: SSL
mail address: ***@live.com
username: ***@live.com
password *****
SMTP verification: yes, like IMAP

I can send mail with SMTP (smtp-mail.outlook.com), I can download my mails from POP3, but I can't download from IMAP. I alwas get the "Login failed" error message. I have a little old Samsung Monte (S5620). What's the problem?

Outlook allowed me to send the email with an attachment, but soon after I began receiving a pop up stating "the IMAP server wants to notify me the attachment is too large, limit to 20 MB"  It continually pops up every 10-15 minutes.  There is no outgoing emails of pending emails.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.
