My account is set to Contacts Only, now all of a sudden I am getting spam in my inbox. A deep scan state no virus present. I use Bitdefender Premium firewall and anti virus program and the OS is XP Pro. Can someone help please

For months I have been getting emails, allegedly from Hotmail such as the one below:

"....Due to increased spam and phishing activities globally, a DGTFX trojan virus has been detected in your windows live folders. Your email account will be upgraded with our new secure 1024-bit RSA key anti-virus firewall to prevent damage to our email servers and to your important files. Click your reply tab, fill the columns below and send back to us or your email account will be terminated to avoid spread of the virus..." and asking me to provide them with my user name, password, year of birth and country.

I have responded to each of these requests with an email asking for a letter request and/or refusing to provide them with my password etc.

I have never gotten a response - only these random emails...

Is this for real or is it a scam to hijack my account?

Thanks.

.

My windows email suddenly will not send. I called the ISP and they walked me through the programming, and it was already set the way it was supposed to be, and still it will not send. I called them again and they said the only thing it could be is the antivirus firewall interfering and that I should disable the firewall. That does not make sense, the antivirus firewall has been there and it sent, nothing has changed on the computer except for the fact that now my windows email will not send. I have to go to the ISP website to do my email, which is ok but I do not like having things not work, and I want my windows email to work, I prefer using it than the ISP website email. Help please. Thank you.
If I go into Firewall setup all categories already show windows firewall as on.  Also says firewall is being managed by McAfee.
Is it true that hotmail is going to a new secure 1024-bit RSA key anti-virus firewall and is asking for user name, password, Year of Birth, and Country info from the users or is this just a phishing e-mail
Received email supposedly from MSN Hotmail customer care wanting to upgrade my account with anti virus firewall and asking for user name, password, year of birth and country. Is this for real or a scam?
