Environment:

  • 15" Macbook Pro with Retina
  • OSX 10.8
  • 24" LCD Monitor connected via HDMI cable (macbook is  closed so that the external monitor becomes the primary display - I think the Mac term for this is clamshell mode)
  • Outlook for Mac 2011 14.2.3 (120616)
  • Latest installed Update: 14.2.3
  • Outlook is connected to Exchange Server 2010

How to recreate the problem:

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on Calendar
  3. Select Day, Work, or Week as the view
  4. Appointments appear as expected
  5. Now Attempt to scroll up or down
  6. Expected Result: Calendar view scrolls properly and after stopping the scroll motion, everything is legible.
  7. Actual Result: Imagine using a brush and a can of paint to write a perfectly shaped word on a wall. Now before the paint drys, slam your hand on the word and smear it all around the screen. Kinda hard to read now isn't it? Yeah, that's what happens. I have a screenshot of the problem if that doesn't make sense.

Not very useful workaround:

Disconnecting the HDMI monitor and using the laptop without an external monitor resolves this problem. What's odd is that this problem just started a couple of days ago.

Note that no other apps on the Mac experience this problem and all other features of Outlook are working properly. Scrolling in every other app works as expected.

Any ideas on how to fix this one? It seems to be getting worse by the day.
When I am typing an email, in the last few weeks, when I type:

I've

Outlook autocorrects it to:

I'Ve

And the email field loses focus. This also happens when I type "I'll." It autocorrects to "I'Ll" and loses focus again.

Only noticed in the last couple weeks.
Looking for the tool bar at the top of the page that controls the alignment.
I can still see all day in the future, but when I try to work or check of event for "Today" it clears them all out before I get to review them, then I have to manual search for them in my email under the task.
I keep receiving this error message from Outlook:

Client tried to access nonexistent namespace. (Mailbox name should probably be prefixed with: INBOX.)

Have no idea about what to do
Whether I right click and select "Rename" or I click on the name to manually change it, the name to be edited only appears in the edit state for a second. I cannot type fast enough to make the change.
I rebuilt my identity as outlook wouldn't open.  After the rebuild Outlook opened but then all my folder names were gone and replaced with 'Recovered Folder 1, ...2, 3...etc.  I tried to rebuild again and the folders returned but now I can't save anything to a folder and I'm not able to create any new calendar entries.

I still have the original identity saved as a copy but haven't tried to copy/paste that under the main identity file yet.

this app is making me miss outlook on my PC...

Any help is most welcome!
I have just updated my Mac to Mac OS X Lion and now I can no longer search my outlook.

I keep getting no results when I search my contacts and emails!!!
