Recently installed Office 2011 and updated to 14.3.9 on 6 Mac's for a client.  They client has 2 separate O365 subs of 5 licenses each.  On 5 of the machines, the license through Office 365 sign-in works perfectly well.  On the 6th, it will "license" the software and everything appears good.  Within a day or two, whenever launching any Office app, it pops us and again asks for a license key.

Entering the license information for either subscription, both of which have remaining licenses on them, will not work at that point.  I have to go into the Office 365 web login that was last successful, delete that client machine from the list of licensed installs, and then re-enter the information on the client machine.

I have done a compete and thorough uninstall of Office files, prefs, etc on this machine and reinstalled/updated.  The same behavior continues.

Please help as I am at a total loss at this point.

In Outlook for Windows there is an option where one can right-click on the sorting fields and add/remove items from Field Chooser such as Date Received, To, Sent, Category etc.

This is a great tool for sorting / viewing emails. This functionality is critical when one deals with numerous emails received/sent each day and wanting to access them later.

The same functionality does not seem to exist in Outlook 2011 for Mac.  Is this the case or am I missing something? If not then, is there a way to work around it please?

I would say the above and the lack of Format Painter are two key functionalities missing in Outlook and it is disappointing if Microsoft does not include it.
Hi,

Any help you guys can give would be much appreciated.

We are a business with three employees using Outlook for mac 2011 version 4.3.9 on mountain lion.

We have an orders inbox that we have sent up as a shared inbox because all three of us benefit from being able to see what the state of orders is. Unfortunately now that we have three people using this we constantly getting the following error message:

if you enter the password the following message pops up:

Whether you click yes or no the first error then pops up again and the cycle continues rendering outlook unusable.

This only happens when more than one person is on outlook so it seems to me that outlook is recognizing more than one user and constantly asking for passwords as a result.

The inbox settings are as follows;

I have not blanked the password out of the above. It always comes up blank and if you enter it, the next time you open the settings box its gone.

If anyone has any idea why this happens and/or suggestions to fix the problem they would be very much apprenticed.

As would any suggestions of alternative setups that we could use to have a shared inbox.

Many  thanks

Dom

I am trying to import apple mail email archive files into outlook 2011 for mail.
Previously I exported the emails from mac mail, that created a file on my home screen that says "Gmail" and contains all the folders in .mbox format.
Now I am trying to import this folder in ourlook 2011 using the import wizard and when the choose folder option appears, the file which I need to choose is greyed out and i can select that file.

Please help me with this issue of importing the emails from apple mail to outlook 2011 for mac.
Helpful answers will be appreciated

I have latest version of Apple OSX, (Mavericks) and their office applications and latest version of Office for Mac 2011, including Outlook 2011 version 14.3.9.  For some reason the automatic syncing between Outlook address book and the Apple Contacts app has stopped working since upgraded to latest version of the Apple OSX 10.9.1.
I need to use Outlook in the office environment and have little choice on that.
I use an iphone so especially need iphone address book to be up to date with the MAC version of contacts, which used to sync with Outlook address book.
Apple  forums direct queries to MS forums because functionality stopped working when I upgraded to latest version of OSX, but they seem to imply that proble lies with MS.  Which I feel is a cop out but there we are.  I am caught between 2 giants and cannot get a sensible answer

Can anyone clearly tell me why the sync of 2 address books stopped working, is it an Apple or MS issue to fix, and is there a timeline to fix or a practical alternative to keep these 2 address book/contact applications in sync.

Failing this I will have to drop all MS products from my Mac and go 100% native Apple, but given my many years of MS Office experience this would be a difficult change and a retrograde step.

In advance, many thanks for advise and direction provided
I have an AppleScript to generate and send an email message. It creates the message, but the message doesn't actually get sent, it just gets stored in the Outbox with an error that it could not be sent.

It looks something like this:

tell application "Microsoft Outlook"

activate

set w to make new outgoing message with properties ¬

{account:(pop account myAccount), subject:"test", plain text content:"this is a test"}

make new recipient at w with properties {email address:{address:myAddress}}

open w

                          send message id (id of w)

           end tell

Is this a bug in Outlook 2011 Mac or am I doing something wrong? I've searched the web and this seems to be a common problem.

A similar script worked like a charm in Entourage.

TIA
Rick

Hi all,

I just moved to a new job, and the company uses gmail.  Both at home and work, I'm running Outlook 2011 (14.3.9) and syncing via IMAP.  Inbox is full message download, folders is headers only.  A consistent and annoying problem since I've started is that the inbox sync in Outlook is never complete.  Old inbox messages that I moved to folders or deleted still show up in the inbox (and I always make sure to sync before exiting at both work and home).  It's getting to the point that I'm considering just moving to gmail's web interface, but would hate to have to do that, it's so clunky.

Any suggestions?  I've seen some threads on the web with the same problem, but haven't found anyone who's figured out how to solve this.

Many thanks in advance,
Annette
I have been trying to create what was called Personal Folder (.pst) files on the windows side, so that I can transfer online emails to a folder on the local drive.
I have searched all the databases and online for 1/2 day and cannot find any solution that works.  I see the same question asked in 2011 and answered by one of the specialists, but the solution she proposes also does not work.  In short I cannot find the import/export data files equivalent on the PC side and in earlier version of the Mac software .  I have gone thru every menu and every drop down and still no luck.  Can someone please help?  I can't even seem to find Outlook 2010 in any of your menus or even on this menu under Office for Mac or Outlook.  So don't know that I am posting in the correct place.   So I am posting in multiple places.
I recently installed Office 2011 for Mac. Is it in any way possible to tell Outlook to store all my local mail data to the SD card that I have permanently in my Macbook Air for additional storage? This would be of great help to me.
