Hi,
I would appreciate help to understand how to handle SkyDrive just as cloud backup tool for local databases.
For instance, one of my databases is from a citation manager software (Zotero - www.zotero.org), other from a data mining tool (Knime - www.knime.org), etc. This databases are very dynamic and dozens, maybe hundred of files and tables are created daily.
The databases are stored in my local drive (C:) and I use a dedicated cloud backup that I intend to stop using bearing in mind that SkyDrive can be able to handle my needs.
I intend to create and store in my SkyDrive local folder the database folders (e.g. DatabaseA, DatabaseB). Considering my computer crashes and I will need to restore my backed up files, I am looking for the best way to handle that.
I would prefer to restore the files from my local backup, since it would be much faster. Skydrive would be a contingent backup, to be used just if some problem happens with my local backup. Then, I would install again Skydrive folder in the new brand and/or
formatted computer, but I won't choose folders for sync. Actually, I thought on recreate the same previous folder structure inside SkyDrive local folder (e.g. DatabaseA, DatabaseB), restoring my local backup into them. Then, I would choose the folders to sync
in SkyDrive settings.
=> After this last step, there is a 'black box' in my mind. A couple of questions:
a) Will SkyDrive be able to sync (backup) from the last state my computer was before it has crashed? I mean, I would like that Skydrive recognizes that the local folder content (copied from the local backup) is the same content that was previously stored in
SkyDrive Cloud, just sync files that changed.
b) My main concern is that any kind of file conflict could appear, and files from the Cloud would be sync/restored into my local drive. If this happens, the databases can become corrupted forever! Does this possibility exist? I mean, if there is (it seems there
isn't) a way to set SkyDrive just to mirror my local drive it would be great.

cant send email on outlook.com, getting message that there is unusual activity on my account
1. alias was removed from ACCOUNT(A) 30 days ago. then was able to add the same alias to ACCOUNT(B), BUT unable to receive any message addressed to that alias in inbox under ACCOUNT(B).
2. went back to ACCOUNT(A) to check and found the same alias also listed here(!!!!!), under ACCOUNT(A):
inbox > options > your email accounts

but NOT listed here:
account settings > overview

and NOT here either:

Hello I am having some trouble's accessing my email whenever I try to sign in to the email *** Email address is removed for privacy *** it says "Your account has been temporarily blocked. Someone may have used your account to send out a lot of junk messages or done something else that
violates the Microsoft services agreement." I have tried verifying my info by going to forgot password and filling out all of my info and it sends the reset link and everything but it keeps saying it's blocked. If you guys could help I would be very appreciated.

I've been getting this msg for 2 days now when I sign into blogger.com
Over the years I have created a few Xbox Live accounts, some have got Xbox Live memberships attached to them, and I think they have the 'auto-renew' on. But I've always reverted back to my original account which I have now been using for 5 years.
However I cannot remember the emails or gamer tags linked to them. Is it possible they can locate my accounts by me giving them my personal billing information like name, address etc..? And could they cancel any renewable memberships? At the end of the
day I don't want to be paying for memberships on Xbox Live accounts I do not use anymore.
All I want is my accounts to be located and to have any memberships with the 'auto-renew' on to be cancelled.

My Outlook acct has been blocked for SENDING emails. I can access my account just fine and can read my emails. When I try to send emails, it pops up a message that "due to unusual activity" on my account, I am blocked from sending and need to get a code
via my cell phone and reset my password. I reset my PW 2 times and still am blocked. I contacted tech support and have heard back from them that "nothing is wrong on their end" and I need to reset my password. I have reset it 2 more times and am still blocked.
Supposedly it can become blocked due to sending out spam, sending out emails to large groups of contacts, forwarding spam emails, etc. I have done none of these things. I responded back to tech support that the issue still isn't fixed, but haven't heard
back. Their response time is 24 hours. They did tell me that there is no phone customer service or other help available. Has anyone else had such an issue and how did you resolve it? Thanks!
I was having problems with SkyDrive syncing files between the cloud, my two PCs and my Windows Phone. Some files synced others didn't.
So I copied all my data off SkyDrive to local storage and then deleted all folders and all files in SkyDrive (using web access).
I now need to copy all that data back to SkyDrive and access it across my devices. On web access (via https://skydrive.live.com/) I can't see a way of importing lots of folders with their files. I can only see a single file upload.
So I went to the SkyDrive folder on my PC and copied all the folders & files their (simple drag & drop). It all appeared to work. I can see all the folders & files on that PC via windows explorer.
But:
- When I look on-line (https://skydrive.live.com/) all I get is the folder structure with no files within. This is not a time issue as I've left it for a few hours - nothing.
- When I try to see the files via the Metro App it says something like, "Sorry there was a problem. Please try again later".
I have spent hours reading this forum & other forms of on-line help. I really need this sorted as I'm going away after the weekend to my University Residential School and my Tablet PC with SkyDrive access (OneNote, etc.) is crucial.
Please help. Thank you in anticipation.
PS I'm running Windows 8.1 Preview on both my PC & Tablet PC. I have Windows Phone 7. I use Office 2013.
I need password reset option enabled for my custom domain emails on the Windows Live Admin center for domain: klucher.com it's a personal site used by me.
