I currently use Windows Mail and have several accounts on it.  If I download and install Windows Live Mail (I think I need it to be able to also add a hotmail account, which is not possible with Windows Mail) then will all my emails and folders, etc. automatically be transferred into Windows Live Mail or do I need to transfer them manually?  Is there any danger of losing information when doing so?  Cheers, Torsten.

I can receive, but not send.  It has worked in the past, but I can't pinpoint any incident that may have caused a problem.  I contacted my ISP (Cox Communications) and we checked my settings.  Everything is correctly set up with regard to my SMTP address, etc.  They told me it was a Windows Live problem.  When I attempt to send, the message sits in my outbox for several minutes and then I receive the following error message:

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server.

Subject 'test mail'

Server 'smtp.cox.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC19

Protocol: SMTP Port: 25

Secure(SSL): Yes

Hi,

I would just like to know what I need to do in order to be able to use my Windows Live Mail client with my Hotmail account. Do I need to upgrade to Hotmail Plus in order to be able to do this?

Thanks!

I can open Windows Live Mail and see new un-read messages added to my inbox from my comcast.net email provider. When I click on them to open them, nothing happens, no error message, nothing. If I then try closing Windows Live Mail, opening Sent Items, opening Contacts, all are frozen and do not respond at all. Sometimes I get a "Windows Live Mail not responding" message. I have to re-start my computer in order to close the WLM program.
I use Windows Live email via Virgin Media. I have tried to set up a Windows Live ID but keep getting a message that says there is a temporary fault. When I go into Windows Live Mail now I get a screen asking for my Windows Live email address and password but end up in a loop going nowhere. I can use the Windows Live email ok apart from the fact that my Contacts have disappeared. I want to get rid of the screen that asks for my email address and password as I did not have to do this before I tried to set up the Live ID. Help!
I uninstalled windows live as I've been having a problem sending emails.  That didn't work I still can't send emaisl.  I can receive email.  How do I get back to Windows Live that came with Windows 7 ? Or how do I fix this problem!!!!!

I was using my Windows Live Mail program to send an email.  A box popped up saying "verisign internet directory service" with all of these different email addresses when I forgot to put the @...com after the name I was sending it to.

Why is this part of WLM?  Why do I need to have access to email addresses of people I don't even know?  It listed ten or twelve different email addresses, all starting with the same five letters.

When I googled the verisign internet directory service, I did not get much information...

I am not able to reply to any email received with graphics or photos...or forward any....I can only receive them....I am using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail and I hate it because it seems to take the fun out of responding.  I used to be able to forward and reply with graphics...help....and thank you
