One of the latest windows messenger updates had the simply stupid idea of making "appear offline" block your whole list. This turned into so much of a problem that I lost interest with unblocking people every time. Now that skype has taken over it has extended this problem to whole new levels. Now I dont have Windows Live Messenger to unblock the contacts, it's left to the graphically orientated "people" menu on outlook or whatever it is. After looking endlessly for a way to actually talk to my friends by unblocking them which should be a fairly conspicuous option, I found it was done by the completely negligible 3 dots rather than having the words up there in the space....

oh but it gets better. Skype took over Live Messenger, so you're thinking do it in skype, right?

No. While skype recognizes theyre blocked, it leaves the option to unblock them blank and instead refers you to a (random) hotmail page that again doesnt help.

Could someone perhaps offer a way of mass unblocking most of your list? Probably not because I imagine it needs an upgrade. Better yet can someone offer an explanation as to why quite an integral part of instant messaging has been completely overlooked during the transfer to skype and/or outlook? It's very, very sloppy
Hello,

I am not receiving messages from my Windows Outlook contacts in Skype. I access Skype through the Skype app on my Samsung Galaxy tablet and through Skype on my laptop, and both have continuously failed in receiving messages.

I only get the messages when I log into Outlook, and even then I am not sure if they all come through to me.

I have never had this problem before with Windows Live Messenger, and if I did, it never happened as often as this.

Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Can i still get Windows Live Messenger? I heard it is now Skype.
I cannot send an offline message through via Outlook.com account, but when I searched for Windows Live Messenger,It had links connected to my Outlook.com account.Do I have to download the Windows Live Messenger,or is it available on the net,or it is permanently transferred to Outlook.com?I want to use Windows Live Messenger from my Windows 7 operating system laptop.

My Windows Live Messenger is no longer working.

I am having the OS Windows Vista Home Basic and

it sends me the error:

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side......event log for more detail.

Can i have any option to start it back again?

I cannot send a message with Windows Live Messenger on my Outlook.com account when the contact is offline. It shows "No contacts are online".Can't we send a message when the contact is offline?
I accidentally deleted my contacts a few days ago and used the "restore deleted contacts" function on people.live.com. This restored all my contacts for outlook but my contacts on msn/skype are still missing. Since all my contacts on skype were imported from the MSN merge I can't figure a way to re-add them. Since windows live messenger doesn't work anymore, I can't add them from there. How should I go about fixing this problem?

Hi,

I am also facing the same blocked accounts in Skype after the migration from Windows Live Messenger to Skype. They are many accounts about more than 100+ accounts which are blocked. The Limited access also does not help since there are no users blocked in the People of Outlook.com or also into the Skype Interface.

I want to delete my Hotmail account as it is sending Spam emails to my contacts. I have tried to cancel it but I get a message saying I need to cancel my subscription to OWL (Orange Windows Live Messenger). I have no idea what this is and I can't seem to delete it. Help!!
