I set up a new PC with Windows 8. My old Vista 64 PC was using Windows Live Mail 2011 and had several years of email messages with about a dozen different pop email accounts. It always worked perfectly.

Due to having multiple pop email accounts, I installed Windows Live Mail 2012 on the Windows 8 machine and using the Easy Transfer cable I brought in my email accounts and all my messages. But now, for some reason, a few of the accounts will not save the passwords and other account settings, such as "Leave messages on server", etc.

I have tried everything I can think of, run as administrator, and have searched the forums to no avail.

I still get my emails, and for now leave Windows Live Mail open so I don't have to type in the passwords every time I want to check my email. But that is not right.

What can I do?

I try to add my hotmail account to windows live mail many times but I get a message saying that it is synchronizing and to check back in a few minutes. This message does not go away. At the bottom of the page it keeps flashing updating calendar. I am using my primary alias email address which I changed a few hours ago and I have received an email saying that it is now my primary alias ( I got this notification in my gmail address).

Is there any way to permanently disable or turn off "Smart Quotes" & "Smart Apostrophes" in Windows Live Mail?  Hard to believe Microsoft would do such a dumb thing that causes so many problems when you want to print out a copy of a sent email where you have used quotation marks and or apostrophes.

Please, no more "see my Private Message" replies.  I can't find or see Private Messages!

Thanks,

Martin

How does one import a csv file directly into windows live mail category folder (OK if part of contacts as well, duplicates excluded)?  CSV file contains three columns: firstname, lastname, emailaddress
I installed Windows Live Mail and imported all my folders and settings from Outlook express 6.  As you know OE6 didnt have a built in spell checker so I had to install my own (e.g. CSAPI3T1) .

When I now write a new email in Window Live Mail, the 'auto spell check as you write' facility seems to be very slow in activating.  I may write 3 or more incorrectly spelt words before I see them being underlined in red.

Is this normal >?
First, to J W Stuart,

My sincere apology for your having misunderstood the tender of my commentary at my earlier posting.  I definitely did not intend sarcasm as to having stated my understanding of the program.  Just a choice of the wrong wording at a stressful moment.

I have followed advice and successfully downloaded Windows Live Mail (hereinafter "WLM").  However,I am  currently at the screen to input an email address and Microsoft account password. The problem is, the address of which of my email accounts?  I inserted the email address I have with Microsoft.com and it is not accepted.

Moreover, in creating an email address for WLM, what is the abbreviation of same, the latter? Or, might I construe a connection between WLM and Hotmail? Is this the answer I am seeking?  Heretofore, I had presumed they are two separate entities.  I tried creating a new email address specifically for WLM; alas, not the answer..  I have searched the Web, asked specifics, but must have missed something on-point, because I am "lost in translation." (smile)

Further assistance would be most welcome.

Windows Live Mail will not send to multiple addresses on BCC?  It keeps asking me to enter addresses?

Original title: Windows Live Mail won't sync with Hotmail/Outlook email addresses

Hi,

I've had Windows Live Mail setup for some time now. I haven't changed any settings but for some reason the software has stopped syncing with all of my Hotmail/Outlook email addresses. It still sync's with other accounts such as Gmail.

I get the following error message for every Hotmail/Outlook accounts i have when i attempt to sync with them.

Unable to send or receive messages for the <Email address> account.

Server Error: 0x80048820
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048820

What has happened? And how can i fix it?
I've got a log from the software if it helps.

Thanks for any help in advance.
Rob
I am using Windows Live Mail.  I receive multiple .zip emails that i have to send to one recipient.  For example, I have to forward five zipped files to one person in one email at the same time. When i send this one email, all of the zip files are changed to .eml and cannot be opened. Previously, maybe on another email program, all the files were sent at one time as the zipped files, not changed to .eml.  Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?
