Is it possible to synchronize only a subset of my extensive contact database with a smartphone (apple/droid) or iPad?  Over 3,000 contacts  but not all are required on mobile devices.

Currently using hosted Outlook Exchange and connecting to several devices with Outlook for Mac or mac email programs.

Cheers

Just got my first smart phone. tried to set up my email and it is not recognizing the address or the password. Verified what it is on my laptop and even changed it but still not working. Help
My Galaxy smartphone alerts me to incoming emails which have arrived on my laptop. If I use the smartphone to send an immediate reply, the recipient gets this reply as normal, but then it bounces back to my sent box on the laptop, appearing as an email sent every few minutes, perpetually. I detected this phenomenon after sending four reply emails via smartphone, then spotted that they were repeating in my sent box. I've tried all sorts of ways to disable the repeat, but only deleting them individually down the list is effective. Today I have 16600-plus sent messages in my sent box, all repeats of the same four originals.
As a non-techie, the only thing I can do is print off copies of each new email sent, then delete evything from the sent box as they pile up.
The suppliers of the samsung galaxy phone tell me this is a problem with Outlook. It's driving me mental; is anyone else suffering the same problem and is anyone engaged in fixing it?

When I log in to see activity details through the link in the report email via smart phone,

all I can see is how to set up Family Safety for Windows 8.1.

My workstation in my work place works fine though it is Winodw7, but my smart phone does not work any more after kid's laptop upgrade to Window 8.1.

It is a Galaxy II Android version 4. 0.4.

I bought a smartphone a year ago so that I could check emails when I am working. Unless this is just a problem today that will work itself out, I just discovered that when I downloaded emails to my android smartphone from my hotmail/outlook account, those emails did not download when I got home to replicated on my installed outlook account on my windows 7 laptop. I dont respond to emails from the smartphone but will get to them when I get home. I fired up my laptop to respond to an email that i saw on the smartphone and that email did not download to the laptop. None of the other emails that downloaded today to the smartphone showed up either. I checked the delete folder and they were not there. I then went online and checked out my outlook.com/hotmail account and all the emails were there. I clicked on the email that I was responding to and then went back to the inbox. I then clicked on outlook send/receive and the email showed up. I did that multiple times on other emails that had not replicated and they all showed up upon clicking send/receive I gather because they had changed status to read from unread. Now I am wondering if over the past year there were a lot of emails that havent shown up on my laptop due to downloading to my smartphone. If outlook.com is designed to only download to one machine and not any that ask to replicate this is a major problem. I cannot have a situation where anything that downloads to my smartphone wont show up on the laptop since I only respond to emails from the laptop. I am hoping that this isnt a problem and that the emails would show up later once the server and my laptop outlook can sync up better. If this is how it is going to be, then I cannot allow my smartphone to ever download emails from hotmail/outlook,

Dear Alix,

I note that there has been not further posting on this topic for about six weeks. I am having the same problem and am unable to use the Hotmail connector to update my Nokia Windows 8 smartphone. My password will log me into Microsoft but not into the Hotmail Connector.

Please advise.

I have windows 7 premium, 64 bit OS

Since Microsoft switched my e-mail: (removed PII) to Outlook.com server, I am losing some important e-mails on my computer.
I still have those e-mails on my smartphone, which has Hotmail installed.
Last incident happened today: I lost one e-mail from two different messages posted me by the same sender.

Will you please let me know how can I fix this problem or how can I switch my e-mail account back to Hotmail on the computer.

Thanks
