I signed out of Outlook app on my Samsung but it is still not working.

I cannot access my hotmail account. I have an Samsung, Android software phone. I was forced to upgrade to the Outlook email service and I already changed my password and that did not work. I am still getting the authentication error. Any ideas would
be helpful.
I can see my personal folders but there are not any emails in them.
Just got a samsung galaxy s3. And though I have my s3 set up in case of a conflict for the server to prevail, when I delete messages on my phone, it deletes them in my hotmail account, too. Is there a "master" setting I can prevent that? FYI - I'm
still using an old, free, hotmail email account.
I have Outlook for Mac 2011 and a new Samsung Galaxy III and would like to sync contacts and calendar. Apparently syncing services has been broken on Mac OS X 10.7.4 preventing many existing solutions, including Kies from Samsung, from working.
Any thoughts on how I can get these two to sync?
