I received a spam e-mail which was a phishing scam, but having came from a contact I thought it fine and opened it. When I realised what it really was I deleted it and all the other spam ones I have received since have been successfully 'swept'. The problem is that my sent box is filling up at a ridiculous rate with the same spam e-mail forwarding itself hundreds of times - in 4 days it had sent from my sent box over 600 times. Deleting them does nothing and they keep sending from the sent box.

Can someone advise me on what to do, I've scanned my computer and it has came back with no virus / malware found.

Thanks

I noticed a phishing scam email, asking recipients to log into their account via an attachment, was sent from my email account to all contacts in my account the other night.  I contacted everyone in my contact list, informing them it was not from me, that it was a scam and to delete the said email.

Since then I have noticed that I am not receiving emails in my inbox.

I have received one, but a number of others are missing - which is even more confusing.

So, I have changed my password to my Hotmail account.  I've then sent an email to the account to see if it's now receiving emails, but it still isn't.

Does this mean that who ever got into my account (if, they indeed, did) is now diverting my emails somewhere? I'm just not sure what's going on.  Why was one email received, but others are missing?  How can someone get into my account if they don't have my password - especially since I've changed the password by going through the required security measures?

Please help me fix this issue.

Thank you.

A friend emailed me and I was trying to label a different email as Phishing Scam but mistakenly labelled hers as Phishing Scam. How do I retrieve it?

Hello

I have been getting lots of Phishing Scam emails on my personal Hotmail lately. Which I have never got before, these range from thank you for your payment,  to holidays.   just had another now saying "thank you for booking at our Hotel"

Do I just ignore these emails or should I be concerned?

And how can I stop getting these emails?

It is a Hotmail account

There seems to be no Hotmail section so I have put under outlook/MSN

Thanks

Adam

I've got a small problem, due to the placement of the Not Junk and Phishing Scam buttons, I have accidentally added a Spam account email address to my contacts list. Currently my inbox is set to Exclusive, I have checked my Safe Senders list and Mailing Lists, this address does not appear in there, I have checked my People (contacts list) and it's not there either, but for some reason I can't stop the emails. I've got two email rules set to delete this **** but it doesn't work either. To give you an idea this is how the emails are normally constructed *** Email address is removed for privacy *** on behalf of _VanquisCreditCard-UK_ (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) Now 90% of these mails all use the same fictitious sent on behalf of email address Does anyone know how to remove these so they no longer come into my Inbox. Why on earth did MS stick the Phishing Button on the same button as Not Junk mail, the only reason this has happened is because the Not Junk Mail button has set up hidden rules and allowances that I can't find or undo.
I'm receiving the same Junk mail everyday at least 20 times per day.

I've already sent it to Junk, to  phishing scam and report to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and *** Email address is removed for privacy *** but emails keep coming.

Any suggestion ?
A couple of days I reported a phishing scam email and since then I am able to log into my hotmail account, see the first page of my inbox but not go to other pages or open any emails. Also, the only button is the 'new' mail button, and no other buttons are visible at all; delete, sweep etc.

Was my account locked? No error messages come up at all.

Thanks,
Gwen
I was messing around on the toolbar options and accidentally clicked on the "Phishing Scam" button on a VERY important email. Now I cannot find it anywhere! There was no confirmation dialog or anything, this email just disappeared. I need it back, how can I find it?!

I am constantly reporting phishing scam and still they keep coming, often the same ones or the same ones in disguise. What is a bit of a joke is that every time I complete the report this window pops up and thanks me for helping in the fight against phishing cam (or something to that effect). Who's fighting the fight and who's winning? Everyday when I go into my Hotmail I have to clear the rubbish and I if I leave it too long there's a ridiculous amount clogging up my junk mail. I've tried reporting and blocking and all I get is list of blocked senders about a mile long and just as many taking their place.

Ok I just checked the window that pops up in my junk mail and it says nothing about the fight against phishing scam, just a thank you for helping. I may be helping but it doesn't seem to be achieving much.
