I noticed a phishing scam email, asking recipients to log into their account via an attachment, was sent from my email account to all contacts in my account the other night.  I contacted everyone in my contact list, informing them it was not from me, that it was a scam and to delete the said email.

Since then I have noticed that I am not receiving emails in my inbox.

I have received one, but a number of others are missing - which is even more confusing.

So, I have changed my password to my Hotmail account.  I've then sent an email to the account to see if it's now receiving emails, but it still isn't.

Does this mean that who ever got into my account (if, they indeed, did) is now diverting my emails somewhere? I'm just not sure what's going on.  Why was one email received, but others are missing?  How can someone get into my account if they don't have my password - especially since I've changed the password by going through the required security measures?

Please help me fix this issue.

Thank you.
