When I receive an e-mail on my comcast.com account, with a PDF attachment and try to open it, I get a page of thumbnails with photos of every ad I've received. (DirecTV movies, groupons, restaurants, etc.)

I've been able to forward the mail a g-mail account to download and print PDF documents.

We have been experiencing problems for about the past 3 weeks sending pdf attachments in emails to some contacts, where the attachment will arrive as a winmail.dat file (prior to three weeks age we had not seen the problem).

I'm well aware of the longstanding problem with RTF emails delivering attachments to some non-outlook files as winmail.dat files, but the weird thing is the messages are being sent in Plain Text format.  We've also tried sending the messages in HTML, and still the recipients receive the attachment as winmail.dat.

The problem is only occurring with some recipeints, and it seems that what those recipients have in common is that they are using Windows Live Mail.

Anyone have any ideas why this behaviour would be seen on Windows Live Email accounts for messages sent in both Plain Text and HTML format?

having troubles attaching attachments to my emails, also on gmail acct, yet can sent from IE
I save from the scanner, from an email or a pdf I have crated and the receiver cannot open the pdf file.  I then resave and sometimes the receiver can open and most of the time not.  I have repaired, uninstalled and installed.  I am using Adobe acrobat x standard.
I am using Windows 7 & Outlook 10.  There seems to be a problem when I send an emailed PDF attachment to a recipient using a different email software as that person cannot read the .pdf due to it showing as a win.ini (un-openable) attachment  Please can somebody help to solve this problem?

My Outlook emails are configured as HTML 'Format Text' configuration.  What exactly is win.ini format?
I used to be able to view online the DOC and PDF attachments to Hotmail. Now I can no longer open DOC or PDF attachments in Hotmail and can no longer view online! I get this message:

Microsoft Word Web App

Sorry there was a problem and we can’t open this

document. If this happens again, try opening the

document in Microsoft Word.

I do not have the pop-up blocked. I send and receive both DOC and PDF files all the time. What has happened? Why has Hotmail dropped this very important feature?
I can't properly open PDF attachments in Windows 7. I get a message about file conversion with 3 choices and whichever I choose does not work. The choices are Windows default, MS-Dos and a choice of others. These attachments do open properly in firefox. Any suggestions?
I have uninstalled and installed Adobe 10. I have installed an earlier version of Adobe, as I was able to open PDF attachments earlier. I have installed and uninstalled Microsoft Silverlight.
