Original title: when we first were told that hotmail will changed completely to outlook and all access to hotmail will be erased so how come we can still sign into our old hotmail account

When Microsoft initially announced the introduction of outlook emailing account,we were told that Hotmail would soon be "totally erased" so how come about 2 months later,i can still sign into my old Hotmail name and address.

We were told to be quick and change our Microsoft emailing "ID" to a new Microsoft "account" with a new email name and @outlook.com email address and yet about 2 months later I can still log into my "old Hotmail account with the exact same name and password.

As far as I knew,"Hotmail" was being totally erased from the internet world completely-so is this still the case (or) are we going to be able to "always still sign into the "old Hotmail account?.

Does anybody have the definite and exact answer to this question.??.

Cheers from Martin Beattie; *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (or) *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

I have been trying to set up my hotmail account on my new phone but I keep receiving the either error 'invalid username/password' or unable to connect server. I have followed all advice found on forums(including changing password) and tried the Hotmail & Outlook apps. I even contacted Virgin who tried most of what I'd already done & then referred me back to Microsoft. I'd rather not have to pay to have this problem put right - I'm beginning to wish I hadn't changed from my Blackberry where I didn't have any problems!

Thanks for any help you can give me

My Father recently passed away and I know for fact he had legal documents in his account which are crucial to help aid with sorting out his estate. We have tried contacting *** Email address is removed for privacy *** with no response. We called Microsoft support and they said this email address is no longer in use and directed us here to find another resolution to this. We have all the documentation necessary to prove our relation to my Father, that I am the next of Kin, and also proof that myself and my sister are the sole beneficiaries. It is important we hear back and have access to these accounts as soon as possible. Thanks
Firstly, i have only just moved to a Mac after years of using PCs.  How can Microsoft allow 2 products to be incompatible? Like many others on this forum and elsewhere on the Internet I have a Hotmail account which I cannot use effectively with Outlook as I cannot sync my folders. I use a Mac, an IPad and an Android Phone and I just want my email to be the same across all 3 devices.

Please fix this or the alternative is for me to move to a Gmail account
I just received the following email from Customer care:

Without any detectable provocation on my part, every time I try to log onto Widows Live Mail,  my computer suddenly started dimming and showing a box saying: “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?” The program name listed is Windows Live Mail and Messenger. The verified publisher listed is Microsoft Corporation. The file origin is the “Hard drive on this computer.” Despite repeated attempts at correcting the problem myself, I still get the same message box. I’ve been messing with this problem for several months now. If I answer "Yes," I'm let into my mail. If I answer "No," I'm left on my desktop.

My Windows 7 was pre-installed on my HP computer which I bought in October 2012. When I contact HP, they tell me I need to go to Microsoft for help. Contacting Microsoft, they tell me to call HP. April 3 was the only help I received came from a pay Microsoft site. But our attempts at solving the problem were fruitless unless I pay for further help. $169 seemed a bit steep for help with an annoyance.

The only thing that works is if I turn off my User Account control settings. But that stops me from downloading some programs or leaves me vulnerable to other problems. So I jus leave it on and put up with the hassle.

Why am I getting Microsoft emails to get me to sign up for Skype. It is free! Getting this frre download stitches me into a billing account for something Ineither want nor need! More importantly, though they hardly use MSN anymore, I'm having to warn my children away from this mad marketing ploy too.
Opening Outlook (Microsoft 2011 for Mac) gives a window Microsoft Office for Mac with "mise à niveau de l'identé" and "mise à niveau des messages" but it is blocked or at best it takes up to 5 minutes to boot.
What to do? I can't open it
Thanks
I was advised to download Microsoft + 7. I did but now it tells me I have no viewer for downloading attachments.I can't open or download attachments.
In November of 2012, it was announced that it would retire in the middle of March. Recently, I have received e-mails telling me to "upgrade" to skype by today. However, when does Microsoft actually plan to make Windows Live Messenger no longer functional outside of China?
