I'm recieving a lot of mail in the Junk mail that I don't want, but there also some mail in the junk that I want to keep I'm not quite sure how to use RULES FOR SORTING NEW MESSAGES, I'm afraid I might lose the mail I want to keep. Can anyone help Thankyou

I have lost all my messages from between 2009-September 2012! I haven't deleted them and for some reason I cannot find them in my deleted items either! I have tried to recover emails from the deleted folder, and this has not worked.
Please help me to retrieve my emails as there are a lot of important messages that I have lost.
