I have latest version of Apple OSX, (Mavericks) and their office applications and latest version of Office for Mac 2011, including Outlook 2011 version 14.3.9.  For some reason the automatic syncing between Outlook address book and the Apple Contacts app has stopped working since upgraded to latest version of the Apple OSX 10.9.1.
I need to use Outlook in the office environment and have little choice on that.
I use an iphone so especially need iphone address book to be up to date with the MAC version of contacts, which used to sync with Outlook address book.
Apple  forums direct queries to MS forums because functionality stopped working when I upgraded to latest version of OSX, but they seem to imply that proble lies with MS.  Which I feel is a cop out but there we are.  I am caught between 2 giants and cannot get a sensible answer

Can anyone clearly tell me why the sync of 2 address books stopped working, is it an Apple or MS issue to fix, and is there a timeline to fix or a practical alternative to keep these 2 address book/contact applications in sync.

Failing this I will have to drop all MS products from my Mac and go 100% native Apple, but given my many years of MS Office experience this would be a difficult change and a retrograde step.

In advance, many thanks for advise and direction provided
When composing a new email and selecting the address book icon, a window pops up and requests a specific name to be typed in, there is no drop down list of available contacts as there is in Outlook for Windows.  Is there some way I can set up my address book in Outlook for Mac 2011 to list all contacts simular to the address book in Outlook for Windows?
I have Windows Live Mail 2011 and Windows 7.  I want to take some group emails (not my entire address book of emails) and save them in a Word 2010 file, so I can copy and past them into an email.  When I get several of these groups together, I want to send the Word file to another person, so that person can use the ones she wants to send emails.

When I try to save a group as an csv file it does my whole address book instead of the group I want and it is an excel file. (That doesn't look like a csv file to me.)  What would I have to do and what form would it have to be in to save it as a horizontal file in Word?

I am trying to do this so a new secretary at a new location with a different email program can send out emails that I used to have to do.  If anyone has any knowledge of how this can be done, please let me know.  It would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to figure this out for some time. I need a detailed explanation.  Thanks in advance.
I imported my OE address book to Windows Live Mail. It wasn't the latest version of the address book that I used in one of my identities in OE. I deleted the other identities and re-imported the address book but it was still missing the latest contacts I had entered,

What can I do to fix this? Where is the address book located in WLM on my computer?

I also like to list the contacts using the Display I set in OE WAB rather than first name or last name order. Is it possible to do in WLM?

Thanks for your help!

Happy New Year!
For some reason, yesterday all of my facebook friends appeared on my email contact list. I want to delete them from my address book but am not able to do so. Can someone tell me how to do this please?
Dear Team,
I am need CSV file format update address book WLM.

"Mail I would like to add this contact that sent me an email"

Translation:

Someone sent me an email

I want to add their name to my address book

I right click on their name (in their email)

and add

Then find that Live Mail has put their first name in the last name cell + vice versa = I have to switch these manually

For some time I've had a LiveMail (under Vista) with an addressbook and Hotmail calendar.  Because the institution I used to belong to was about to close down my e-mail address, I've been running for a while with two e-mail addresses, the old institutional one, and a hotmail address.  The two addresses appeared as two accounts in the left hand margin of LiveMail.

When my old e-mail was closed down by my ex-institution, I deleted the LiveMail account that related to it in the left hand column, and began running with the new one.  For a day or two all was well, and I had my old addressbook and calendar as usual.  Then suddenly today it began asking me to sign in to Live Mail (which I hadn't previously had to do).  Since my Live Mail sign-in id had been the old institutional e-mail address, I changed over to my new hotmail address, with the same password.

I then tried to do some e-mailing and realised that it couldn't retreive any entries from my address book, and the calendar display on the right of Live Mail no longer displayed any of my appointments.

I've managed to reconnect to my address book (thank you, MS Community!), but can't see any way to reconnect to my calendar.

Any suggestions?
Hi there

I hope someone can shed some light on this. after several days trawling forums and searches, deleting plist files etcI am still none the wiser.

I have a new iphone on ios7 thats syncing happily with icloud and apple address book and ical on my mac. no problem here at all

the problem comes with outlook 2011 which i love. in previous versions (SP1) i could set up sync services, click sync and hey presto it would swap info with address book and calendar which then in turn would icloud back to the iphone - happy days.

this has now stopped working. I can't tell if this is an error on my part or not but it seems unlikely. Now when i click on the sync button i get a greyed message(no devices syncing) see attached. try as i might i can't get this to revert back to "sync"

Long story short, if this is an inherent problem with the latest service pack, can i simply uninstall and re-install SP1 which is still available or will i now have to stop using outlook 2011 for mac as its been rendered as much use as a 3 legged donkey. I am reluctant to do so as i feel cloud based mail or mac mail services are both hugely lacking when compared to outlook but what choice is there when it can't update to my other devices?

Moreover is the rumoured outlook for mac 2014 going to re-instate the sync capability?? it seems ludicrous to have it working before then un-do it? surely thats a backwards step in anybody's book??

I hope someone can clear this up for me once and for all

Thanks

I HAVE RECENTLY MOVED FROM XP3 TO A NEW COMPUTER WITH 365 PROGRAMS AND WINDOWS 8.  PC WORLD TRANSFERRED MY FILES INCLUDING BOTH OUTLOOK(IN OUTLOOK PROGRAM) AND SEPARATELY HOTMAIL (IN MAIL AP) CONTACTS.

WHEN COMPOSING E-MAILS, THE 'ADDRESS BOOK' HAS NO ENTRIES AT ALL.  XP HAD  CONTACTS LISTS BOTH FROM OUTLOOK AND HOTMAIL AND THIS WAS VERY CONVENIENT FEATURE WHEN TRYING TO SEND MAIL TO SEVERAL CONTACTS AT A TIME.

QUESTION 1: IDEALLY I WOULD LIKE THE WINDOWS 8 'ADDRESS BOOK' TO PROVIDE THE SAME FACILITY.   CAN IT?

IF NOT, I AM FINDING THAT THE AUTOMATIC PROVISION OF POSSIBLE NAMES IN THE 'TO' ROW IN THE NEW MESSAGE DOES NOT PROVIDE ALL THE  NAMES OF EITHER OF MY LISTS. ( AND WHERE THE E-MAIL ADDRESS IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE NAMES OF THE PERSON, THE CONTACT IS NOT SUGGESTED AT ALL).

QUESTION 2;  HOW DO I MAKETHE SUGGESTIONS COVER ALL THE NAMES?
