Publish AD LDAP publicly for Outlook 2011 for MAC

We have a few MAC users who can only access the address book when they are internal as their LDP server is set to a DC which is inside our LAN.

I want to give them remote access to the LDAP so need to register an external A record and configure the LDAP and a NAT rule on our firewall.

My question is though how do I go about publishing the LDAP directory? Is there a procedure I need to follow or do I just NAT to one of DC's internal IP?

Really appreciate some guidance on this.

Outlook 2011 for Mac Won’t Allow Manual Mail Retrieval

Help! I have changed the settings in my outlook preferences to "manually" receive messages. Which should mean that my mail only comes in when I hit the button to refresh my inbox. This is not working and I continue to be alerted to messages the instant they come in. (I have also tried setting intervals and these setting aren't working either.) It is imperative that I am not receiving emails all throughout the day or else I will not get my work done! How do I stop the new message influx and set my new message retrieval to manual? It appears that this is a system flaw since I know that my settings are correct. I am updated to the newest version of Microsoft 2011 for Mac 14.3.8.

Moving emails to a specific folder via Dialog box in Outlook 2011 for Mac

I have created subfolders to hold various categories of email.

Using Command-Shift-M, I am able to file them through a dialog box that opens.

I want to type in any part of a folders name to find it here…

However, it seems that the only items "found" are those that BEGIN with whatever is typed.

Is there any way to force a "contains" search here????

what does that mean and how do I fix it? I didn't do anything except my usual emails.

Migrating Outlook emails to Gmail

I set up an IMAP account on Gmail. I want to migrate my saved emails from Outlook for Mac to my Gmail account (as well as eventually moving my calendar events and contacts). I have started with small folders of emails (less than 50). I notice not all the emails are migrating and don't understand why.

Searching contacts in Lync

Hi,

I have Office 365 Home Edition, when i downloaded the latest edition of lync i started facing a problem of not being able to search the Global Outlook Directory.

This was working normally on my Windows machine. To add people i have to login to lync on my windows machine search for the new contacts in order to see them on Lync Mac.

Note that am using a temp license until i get the purchased license.

Transferring local email archive files

I am transferring data to a new Mac and need to transfer local Outlook folders (the equivalant of a PST file in Windows I guess). Does anyone know where these are located and how you go about transferring them please?

Synchronizing Calendar

Hi,

I have a situation with a co-worker where her Calendar is not synchronizing with her iPhone at all, we do not use sync services for anyone neither iTunes to synchronize and she is the only one in the company with that problem. To go further, her Calendar does not sync with anything; she receives invites but, she never gets them and when she does is either off time or the next day and so on. Please advise.

Runnin IMac with Mavericks and MS Office 2011 for Mac. Cannot get the hotmail account in Outlook to work. I have deleted the POP account and readded wtih out success.

Outlook for mac 14.3.8, Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9, quick look not working for PowerPoint files

After upgrading to Mac OS X 10.9 I am no longer able to preview / quick look at PowerPoint attachments sent to my Outlook / Exchange account.

There is a quick look window that opens but it does not allow me to look at any of the slides besides the title slide of the deck. I was able to do this before upgrading to Mavericks.

I am able to quick look at PowerPoint files within the Finder.

OS X 10.9
