I have tried to set up my outlook.com email account in Outlook 2011 but it does not recognise the address as being outlook.com because it is in the format *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.  I cannot find the correct incoming and outgoing server details anywhere.
All,

I've just setup Outlook 2011 for Mac (14.3.9) to work with my corporate IMAP server and have noticed a strange behaviour. When I drag an email out of the inbox into another IMAP server folder, the email gets put in the new folder and disappears from my inbox in outlook, as you would expect. However, if I access my inbox from my iPhone, or via a web interface, the moved email was never deleted from the inbox - so I have one copy in the target folder, and one copy in my inbox.

What appears to be happening is that Outlook is not syncing the delete of the message from the inbox back to the server. I've tried 'Purge Deleted Items' (no effect), and if I do 'Repair Folder' then I will get back those messages there were supposed to have been moved.

Does anyone have an ideas? I've gone through all the settings and searched the web and have come up blank.

Outlook for mac 2011.  Can' find the Library or the Cash or the Temp files
Bonjour,
Bien cordialement, C.IEHL
I am having problems with my email and am about to do a big recovery and having to set up new accounts etc.  so I thought in the process I go from POP to IMAP.  FYI I have 9 POP accounts that need to be switched.

I have loads of messages in folders and want those to appear again in he IMAP setup.  I have questions like:

How do I best import those?
Via .olm?
Or drag to desktop and drag back in to IMAP setup?
Will the email address that they are send to get lost in the transfer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

In Outlook 2010 (PC), when you forward a calendar invite to someone else, Outlook puts the sender as you "on behalf of" the meeting organiser.

But if you do the same in Outlook 2011 (Mac), it drops the "on behalf of" tag and it just puts the meeting organiser as sender... so it looks like you can send messages as the sender just by forwarding one of their calendar invites!

Anyone know how to make Outlook 2011 behave like Outlook 2010 please? In both cases we're using an Exchange 2010 server. I can reproduce the issue in different mailboxes.

Thanks,

- Alan.
This seems to be an issue that is years old but I had a self-created folder that used to live on the server.  A couple of days ago it completely disappeared.  By that i mean that I can't find the folder and for that reason I can't file anymore messages in it.  However, it still exists because I can find messages that I previously placed in it.  But because Outlook doesn't give the directory info I can't tell where the message is.  Spotlight doesn't work.  I have looked at every folder that has a sub-folder, every one.  Still can't find the missing one.   Spotlight doesn't find it.  What to do?
I run Outlook 2011 for Mac having migrated from Entourage. When I look at my MS User Data  have both 2008 Main identity databases and 2011. When I do a rebuild it rebuilds the 2008 identity and not 2011. My other programs such as Word, Excel and PPT are from 2008 version of Office with only Outlook from 2011. The only other dimension to share that may impact is that Rackspace host our Exchange.

My concern is that the size of my identity is 6.7GB and know that anything over 4GB in Entourage caused big issues. My machine is now getting slow to respond in all programs.

Can anyone offer any advice on this.
I'm trying to make a calender for my office, with me and my colleagues - showing up at the same time. As it is now, all calenders are similar  and it's impossible to tell, who's calender you're actually looking at.
How can I "drag" their names to the calender - so I can tell who's who - at the SAME time/in "one" screen??
Hi

I have just installed Outlook with Office for Mac 2011, and am having problems with emails getting stuck in the Outbox - I've tried all the solutions I can find on the Microsoft site - please can anyone help?

This is the error I'm getting:
Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Outlook. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator.  (Error code 17092)

I am trying to use my gmail account and have enabled POP.  I'm using 'pop.gmail.com' '995' as the incoming server and 'smtp.gmail.com' '465' as the outgoing - emails are coming in OK I think, I just can't send anything.  Have I got the right outgoing server settings?

Many thanks
