Unable to access Hotmail account

My family member called your Customer Support Centre on Monday, August 19, because he has been unable to access his email account.

He made several unsuccessful attempts. He tried filling out all of the additional security questions, except 'billing information'. But it still said the info was not enough that is why he directly contacted customer support. During the call, I also spoke to CS and explained that I do have an active and accessible account and the reset info could be forwarded to me so a ticket number was generated and sent to me.

I provided the additional info that you needed, since you referred to the wrong email account. And now the reply is that I have to post to this forum as "Microsoft Account Public Moderators can best address your concern".

Is someone here able to assist with this problem or should I just tell my family member to use a different email service, as it appears that he has now lost access to his Hotmail account that he had been previously been using. Please advise.

Where is the “Highlight text” icon in Outlook? Why is my font style constantly changing on its own?

I'm a legacy Hotmail user that got switched kicking and screaming to Outlook. I've since learned to deal with Outlook email rather than change my Hotmail email address.

I no longer have the highlighter icon in my formatting toolbar and cannot highlight any text in emails. I also cannot find how to add that icon to the toolbar. Note that I am a Hotmail user that just got switched to "Outlook" and do not have or use any Outlook calendaring functions, etc. I only use it for email and it looks almost like my old Hotmail except for the missing highlight icon and functionality. Thanks.
Although I have selected "Arial " as my default email composing font, in just about every email I write, I find Outlook automatically switching me to the Calibri font at a line break or a paragraph break all the time. It happens just about at least once or twice in any email of more than 10 lines or 2 paragraphs long. I can't figure out what's causing it since there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason - just at line and paragraph breaks. It is a PAIN to have to keep going in and resetting the font style once or twice per email!'

Why does outlook keep signing me out. It says for my security it will automaticly sign me out after I have not used it in 24 hours. I sign on and after 10 minutes it signs my off.

I sign into Outlook. com and after about 10 minutes it will sign me off. It says for security it will sign out after 24 hours of being idle.

I have only been on 10 minutes. What is the problem?

SkyDrive on Windows 8 won’t work

Hi,

My SkyDrive won't start from the main menu and no way to check files from configuration--SkyDrive, even though SkyDrive--Space indicated the space available. Try to uninstall and reinstall from the Store but no use.

Also tried to repair using the Update & Recover option but was prompted to reinstall using the Windows 8 CD which I have cancelled. Is there any way out instead of reinstall the whole Windows 8? Thanks for any help or suggestion available.

Hi,
I am trying to recover a Draft that I saved in my e-mail and I somehow lost this week, and it's definitely not in the deleted, junk, or sent section, nor does it appear when i click "recover deleted messages."
May I see the recent IP logs of my e-mail for the past two weeks? Someone may have hacked into my account.

I have recently received an email on my gmail account that states:

Your Microsoft account has been renamed. We just wanted to check with you that it's okay.

- Old account name: my gmail account name

- New account name: a live.com account name not associated with me

If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.

If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:

1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset

2. Rename your account by going to https://account.live.com/

Shortly after that I received another email saying the account name had been changed from the new one to a completely different one at outlook.com

I am concerned first because my gmail account was listed and that is where I received the email from "Microsoft account team". I have already changed my password on my gmail account but what other steps do I need to take to insure my accounts are safe?
