When I open windows live messenger 2011 it freezes up, and also my fan on my laptop keeps going until I close windows live messenger. ( Sometimes when I open it, it is just a white screen that is frozen) Any suggestions of fixes?

When I log into MSN I automatically appear offline and when I click 'available' my MSN freezes. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling/fixing/clearing internet history/clearing proxy settings (I don't have a proxy server, but figured it wouldn't hurt),
unchecked the box to automatically configure and nothing will work.
Myself and colleagues having issues with Windows Live Messenger this morning where it's using up all CPU processing and memory and then locking up so it can not be shut down except with Task Manager. Is this something Microsoft is aware of and resolving?

Is Messenger down for all? Freezing up for everyone in our company 9/26/2012. Consumes memory and proc...
msnmsgr.exe has begun freezing and causing high CPU usage and in just the last 30 minutes for four out of ten workstations in our network. When we exit the program (completely closing it) we see CPU usage and memory usage return to normal. In each case,
it is Windows 7 64bit workstations, one desktop and three laptops. Each updated with the Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2732059). Not long afterwards this phenomenon began. We have closed the program for now until we find a reason/solution.
Any ideas, explanations, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: One computer is Windows Vista and did not run udpates this morning. The other six computers in our network continue NOT to have a problem. We have been using Windows Live Messenger since it became available and have not had this issue until today.
Every time I try to access Live Messenger, it is locking up my computer. It worked fine until the last few minutes. The same problem is occurring with everybody else I know on the system. When I pull it up in the task list, it is pulling more and more
memory and not responding.
Please help,I am able to sign in to messenger,but when it's signed in,my messenger freezes,i can't click on friends to chat..
There is some advertisement in the messenger loop that is causing the client to eat all available CPU and memory. This is happening to everyone in our office (windows XP, vista, 7). We're also running different versions of IE for the IFRAME (ie 6,8,9).
