Hi I just started using Windows Live Mail and everything was going fine but then when I started to send photos via email this problem occurred and now I can't send anything at all. I tried deleting all the email accounts and add them in again but doesn't help.

Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Had win live mail 2012 for about 4 months on a new laptop HP Probook4740  win 7 64bit, found using group email function completely unreliable.
I have several group contact lists in the Contacts folder, half the time when sending to a group it fails and requires me to add a valid email address, when the group is there and correct.
if i copy the email addresses from a file and paste them in the the send box they are sent correctly.
The other half of the time particularly with a large group say 60 addresses it sends but when i examine the sent folder the email has gone to only a dozen of the contacts, not all 60.
I 've reinstalled live mail 2012 twice, Repaired Live Mail, rebooted the computer this  seems to have had no effect.
I have noticed if I have any other programme loaded ie Word, excel, this increases the likelyhood of a group email send being a failure.  I have Outlook 2003 pinned to the taskbar mainly used  for the calendar and task functions.
Yet at some times it works for a while, then half an hours later it fails. It seems to work more reliably after a reboot for a short period.

Is there any solution to this problem of Live mail unreliability,

Outlook express was much better at group mail, i never had problems with it, but it is not available for win7.

If I open  a Group Contacts in Live mail and select a group I can send an email successfully to all members from the Group folder. But you cannot copy the list of email addresses from the group folder and paste them into the TO box in the mail folder. This function is of no use when dealing with forwarding emails to a Group.
Unfortunately I am required to forward documents etc to various Group contacts, on a daily basis and have concluded that Live mail Group contact functions are so unreliable they cannot be trusted to do the job.  As a work around I hold lists of email addresses in an excel worksheet and copy and paste into the To box as required.

Is Outlook compatible with windows 7, and can I use outlook.com as the ending to my e-mail address, or does all my e-mail still go through my Internet provider's server? I don't recall if I inquired here before. I just changed internet service providers and do not like that I have to go through the new providers home page every time I want to access my e-mail. I also want to know if I use Outlook or windows Live, if my e-mails still go through my internet service providers servers. While I'm at it, I would also like to know I there is a way I can easily import my e-mails, as well as those in other folders I've created under my inbox; from my previous ISP, which was Comcast e-mail?

Thanks, Larry

Hi there .....I am unable to send emails from Windows Live Mail (but I am receiving them). I get this error message:

A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server.

Server: 'smtp.clear.net.nz'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC15
Protocol: SMTP

I have checked with my ISP and all the account set up details are correct. They say it must be "a software problem".

I have hundreds of emails in my Inbox/Sent Items and I don't really want to risk losing them by uninstalling WLM (or having to store them somewhere else).

Are there any other potential solutions to my problem ?

In Outlook - I hit the return or enter button in the body of a draft I had and that made it get sent to the recipient.  I definitely do not want the person to get this email.  Is there any way to get it back or stop it or garble it so it can't be read?  I know that was very stupid of me !!
everytime I try to attach a publisher doc. in an email it says live.com not responding. what should I do? thanks

I have been using Windows 7 for more than 2 years with Windows Live Mail for my e-mail program, having previously had XP with Outlook Express mail.

When for back-up I export my Windows Live Mail to an External Flash Drive (via a file created for this in My Docs), soon after downloading begins I get the message "this file has properties which cannot be exported.  Do you want to Export anyway?"  with the options "Skip" and "Skip all".   I always have continued by saying 'yes' and choosing the "Skip all" option, optimistically presuming the 'properties' referred to are not important.

However, from a question on this Forum which I recently saw and the questioner's responses to the replies he got (I couldn't find the actual answer) I gathered that if "Skip" is selected, the messages will not be saved in a form which would repopulate the program in a readable format.  i.e., I am not in fact backing up my Windows Live messages at all.

Can you tell me what is meant by "messages  have properties that cannot be exported" and whether it is a fact that I can't back up messages in a re-importable form without installing a dedicated program for the purpose – free for a trial period only.  This would seem to me incredible, when my old computer with Windows XP was able to save and reimport messages into its "Outlook Express" Mail programme.

I am on windows 8 and using Live mail and can't get my "contact" list to send an email from any of my contact groups.  When I right click the name o the particular contact the "send email" function isn't bold and won't work. If I click on the particular contact it lists all the contacts and only picks the 1st name to send an email.  Thanks for any help.
