So I made an online order and the shipping information was emailed to my (college) hotmail account. I  tried to log in on hotmail.com and I seem to be redirected to Outlook. I sign in like I usually do and I get this:
So I then click to sign out (How am I even signed in? its been a while since I checked my hotmail) and sign in to Office 365 because apparently I cant use outlook. I'm transported to a completely different universe (sorry I'm a bit melodramatic)

And so, where are my emails? And for that matter, what happened to hotmail? But mostly, where are my emails?

I am running windows 7 Premium version 6.1 *Build 7601: Service Pack 1),

and use Windows live as my email tool: Windows Live Mail Version 16.4.3508.0205 *

I have downloaded the latest windows essentials,

I am current on all  Windows updates

My PC:

2.40 gigahertz AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core

8192 Megabytes Installed Memory

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT [Display adapter]

ST375063 0AS SCSI Disk Device (750.15 GB)

I have several hundred contacts, so I have set up categories.

I use my Hotmail as my mail email default program, though, I do have other email accounts in Widows Live:

I have found that the category tool does not work the same each time I log on. when I add my category to my email TO:  box and hit the "+" sign, I get only a few, the first 8 to 10 names in my category ( my category has 48 names)

If I reboot, and then I find that it only shows the last 8-10  of 48 names in my category, different than the first time I logged in?

When I  check the contact list the category shows all 48 names.

I have read thru all the comments in your forum and I do not seem to be alone in this issue.

I have also tried your suggestions of uninstalling, and reinstalling the Windows Live tool, as well as using the "repair" process in the uninstall/Change box in Control Panel.

I have also found that if I use the Admin, Task manager, and shut down windows live, on occasion, it will resolve the issue, but only for a little while.

I use this as a business tool, and am very frustrated, this seems to be getting worse, not better.

Thanks for any help

David

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 and my Windows Live Mail 2011 is Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308). At the moment my email is always offline and I can not retrieve my emails. Whenever I set it to online its goes back to offline automatically. If taken some screen shot for a better understanding. I hope.

If you see the above picture it states that its working offline on its bottom right corner.

Once I've clicked Go Online and Send/Receive button, a dialbox appears stating the I'm still working offline. If you see at the bottom right corner it states that I'm working online.

After clicking Yes to work online this dialbox appears and I still could not retrieve my emails.

I've deleted my account and recreated it and the same problem occurs. Can anybody help me with this problem.

Original title: I have to creat a new account each day to receive emails. If I delete my current account, create a new one ie: <masked private information> I will be able to recieve new emails.

I had a different email account. Use Gmail now. But want the other one back and all of my contacts. What can I do? I have windows live mail. I keep losing folders in that account too. what is going on?
Hello,
I was trying to clean up my email. First I used the windows live to export all of my folders to a system directory I have for installing and maintenance purposes. I started the process and came back later and it said everything was exported. So I went to the folder I had specified and then to the inbox folder. It had only  exported 4200 out of 34000 files. It had named them some coded name with an eml extension. I checked dates created and noticed that it only created 4 out of 20 for a certain day (Jan 2,2013). It did not included files with attachments. So my question is:

1) why does it only back a portion of the emails in inbox ?
2) why does it not backup  attachements ?
MSN Account locked and can't unlock it. Extremely fed up with this and of course there's no way to contact a live support of some sort with the matter. I have already tried to recover it twice and it says that i have not provided enough info to verify it. The email is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

I never use the account to send emails, only receive them so when it asks me to verify by giving some of the recent sent emails and contact i emailed i can't answer it. What stupid questions.... I need my email back ASAP.

I've given as much info both times i tried to verify it and it keeps saying the automated system concluded it wasn't enough to verify it.

Hopefully i get help here considering there's no where else to go about this matter.
