Is there any way to keep the information meant for one user from getting mixed up with the other? We have email addresses from both being added to one single list, and either of us can click on the other's inbox and view what is there. Can two separate Live Mail accounts be created, or can passwords be put on each half of one account?
please help.  I am trying to send email and keep getting error code 0x80004004.
How can I send all the contacts in one of my Windows Live Mail categories to a colleague? Any helpful ideas welcomed

I have tried a number of the recommended 'fixes' to try to get Windows Live Mail to open. I get the error message " windows live mail could not be started... unable to open the Live Mail message store. Your mail box data is being used by another program such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it to complete its operation then open windows live mail again.  (0x800C0155,2).

However, I have been able to get Windows Live Mail to work by setting up a new user account. This hasn't been much good to me because for some reason I am unable to import my  Sent emails and I do not wish to have to log on as a different user every time I want to check my email!

When will Microsoft make programmes that fix themselves when they go wrong instead of customers having to spend hours of their life fruitlessly searching for answers and having to try to be  computer experts - it's ridiculous!

I have folders within folders in my hotmail account.

I can see them using live mail online

I can see them using Windows Live Mail  Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8117.0416 (on an old XP machine)

However, I cannot see them on my Windows 7 machine using WIndows Live Mail 2012 Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3505.0912).

Any help gratefully accepted...

Hi.

Windows mail has been working fine up to today.

I got an error message when trying to send message which was 0x800CCC78.

I had not changed any settings / passwords  etc and hadn't had this occur before.

Since then, now Windows live mail isnt connecting to receive emails either.

I can send & receive directly through Optus Web Mail.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I downloaded a version of Live Mail from Windows Live Essentials, as the mail programme shipped with Win 8 is rubbish and I need POP to manage my life. I set it up to communicate with my gmail server and initially it worked OK. But every time the PC is shut down,e.g. overnight, and every time we change user accounts, Live Mail will  not pick up any of the messages that have arrived at the server in the interim, and I have to log-in to my Gmail interface, re-send the new messages to myself, and then and only then will Live Mail pick them up. If the PC is on and remains at the same user account, the pick-up works fine. I have checked the settings in the account set-up, and everything is correct, but this unreliability is driving me mad, I don't trust the program, I have to check the Gmail at the server constantly to ensure I don't miss stuff. Can anyone help?
My Windows Live Mail email usually opens and I may be able to use it satisfactorily for a few minutes.  Then it may suddenly lock me out for some unknown reason and I am unable to open any emails or close the whole thing down.  No action is possible.  I would appreciate some suggestions to help put this right.
My internet link is OK and I can use the rest of my computer.  the problem is confined to Windows Live Mail.

I now have 2 PCs, one running XP and the other Windows 7. My email provider is O2 and I have the same email account (Windows Live Mail) on both PCs. However, if I read a new incoming email on one PC it does not appear on the other PC. Is it possible to have all incoming emails automatically shown on both PCs? I am quite unknowledgeable about such matters so would appreciate it if any advice is a simple do this, do that etc etc. Many thanks for any help you can offer.
