I've been using WMM to shoot and edit my movies for months now. In fact, I just shot and edited a movie yesterday. No problems. Audio and video were fine, nothing out of the ordinary.

Later in the evening, I tried to go back and edit another video, and....no audio. At all. I played the individual clips comprising the movie in other programs - WMP and VLC - and the audio was just fine. In fact, in Movie Maker, the little sound wave indicators in each audio clip still appear, but no sound comes out for any of them. I even reopened the video project I had just completed THE SAME DAY, and it didn't play audio.

No system updates were made - to my knowledge - and I didn't download a single thing between the time it was working and when it stopped working. This happened before, but it was only when I had Adobe Premiere open at the same time, and all it took was me closing both programs and reopening WMM.

Thoughts? Help please?

I am trying to burn a DVD from Windows Movie Maker to a DVD-R disc and the following decoding message appears when the encoding process appears at 1.0%: "One or more of the files that were added in DVD maker could not be decoded correctly.  Verify that you have decoding software installed on your computer that can decode the different files, and then try again." I have tried K-Lite Codec Pack once, and didn't work, unless I did it wrong. I have contacted a technician as well, but I couldn't reach my goal, either. This is my very first time burning a DVD and I am very very confused. Someone, please help me... Thank You.
I burned a DVD In windows movie maker live using Vista OS and it will not play on the DVD player on the TV or the Blue Ray player. How can I get it to work?

I also Made a movie in movie maker 2012 with windows 8.1 and saved it to the 1080 option to a flash drive MPEG 4 file. I tried playing this with Windows Media Player and it would not play. I looked over the questions and downloaded codecs? from Microsoft to play MPEG $ but still did not work.

I have windows movie maker version 6.1 i think but all i know is that its not the latest version and when ever i put in an AVI file it says "cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again." but i have got the codec installed im really sure but i don't know how to check this. Also i have tried restarting the thing and it still doesn't work. also i don't know where to get the codec from and what other file types would work. I am in desperate need of help so thank you if you answer back! :D

Whenever I split a clip on windows movie maker it turns it green. I have never had this problem before and I have been using this software since Decemeber 2012. I updated my computer, updated the software, checked for more updates and found none, restarted the software, restarted my computer, reimported the movie files, and checked my video driver for problems and found none, I also repaired the software. After all that I have done, northing has changed. I am running this on a Windows 8 Toshiba satellite and am using windows movie maker 12.  My computer is up to date.
