I looked at Tutorials and I guess I am missing something. I have Windows 8 and cannot figure out how to get to my basic programs such as Write and such. Also I downloaded Windows Movie Maker which was included in Windows Essentials and can't find it. If
I could find my programs it might be there. Help! Speak to me as if I have half a brain.

After I did some updates in my computer, I could no longer preview my project in Windows Movie Maker. I googled about it and found out the problem was/is encountered by many Movie Maker users. I didn't discover any solution that helped me fix this
problem from various forums. It's 2014 and still, no helpful solution to this. If anyone could help me, please share your recommended solutions. I'm actually in need for Movie Maker right now. It's easy to use and keeps the quality of my videos. PLEASE HELP ME.
Has anyone else had this problem?
The sound on my Asus 202 Vivobook is fine. No problems. When I add sound to a movie project, it turns off. Sometimes this happens, sometimes not. The sound can be recorded by my voice, or it can be a song added to the movie.
What I'm saying is, the sound aspect of Windows Movie Maker is wonky. I cannot comeup with a better phrase than that.
When I restart my laptop the sound comes back just fine.

How Do I Safely Download the Correct Driver/Converter/Codec (not sure which one required) for File Type: MPEG 2 Stream File with File Extension: .m2ts so Movie Maker can recognize and import my video that I tried to import through the built in 2.0 USB
cable in my Sony Handycam (model, HDR-CX220)? How do I get it to import this video file format? Is the problem with "PlayMemories Home" that Sony suggested I install on my computer?
Looking forward to the most efficient, quickest and best way to import my videos and pictures from my new Sony Handycam.
Thanks,

How do you remove part of a video ? I seem to only have the option to set the start and end of a video. Want
to remove a section in the middle of the video.
Thanks.
So ive tried my hand at windows movie maker to make some compilations with the footage ive been getting off my xbox one. ive uploaded the clips to the skydrive and then dled them onto my HD. everything works while inside the program, i can preview and
watch the entire film i made with no problems, sound and video work perfectly. but after i finished and saved everything, the videos are all black. i have saved the files as .wmp and .mp4 and both are the exact same deal. i uploaded the video to the skydrive
and youtube and it is the exact same deal. ive been at this for 2 days now and understandably am extremely frustrated. any help would be very appreciated. im using what i assume is the newest version of windows movie maker since i dled it 2 days ago haha.
I have previously used windows movie maker (a previous version of it from a year or two ago) and loved it. Recently in my new job on windows 7 64 bit I installed the latest version. I have been unable to get movie maker to play my videos with the audio
and video sync'd properly. Same is true in windows media player.
I was able to get quicktime to play the videos properly, so I know the videos are not the problem.
I saw a previous question on this forum that suggested updating the codec. When I installed the recommended codec update for my computer (from HP), my microphone on the laptop stopped working, and the videos still did not sync properly on movie maker
or windows media player. So I uninstalled the update.
I really do not want to have to start using a different movie editor. Please help me find a solution. thank you for your help!

Hi,
I'm unable to install Windows Movie Maker 2012 on my laptop running on Windows 8.1.
I was shown the following:
Initially it was
Error: 0x80040607
Source: WLXSuite
After I unistalled windows live essential via CMD line parameter it was this:
Error: 0x80040607
Source: D3DX10_42
After I've tried Fixit which couldn't find any problems and followed by .NET fix, it became this:
Error: 0x80040607
Source: UXPlatformCore
I've tried to uninstall and install again, tried repairing, tried manually deleting all Windows Live components, none of it works. I've also tried this CMD line thing to troubleshoot but doesn't work as well.
I do not think its a system requirement issue.
What else is there I can do? .NET fix also sent in my logs already.
