Using Win 8, Windows Live Mail.  Can't get spell check to work in an email.  Added it to quick access, but icon doesn't respond.  Tried using F7, and nothing happens.  What's up?  Thanks.
I have changed back to using windows live mail. However when ever I receive an email into the in box - 8 more of the same appear. So instead of receiving the one - I receive 8. It happens to every email that I receive.
How can I get rid of the other 8 emails and just receive the original one.

I added my Gmail to Window Live Mail and successfully imported my Contacts.  The only other email I have is an old Yahoo so it isn't compatible with Windows Live Mail but I rarely use it.

After performing this task, I admit I have no idea why I needed to activate the Window Live Mail.   What is outlook.com? Is it the same as Window Live Mail? Should I create a new email account to have a back up for Gmail? Can you create a new email account in outlook.com?  If not, should I create an account @live.net so I have an email totally in sync with Microsoft Windows?

I bought a new dell windows 7 with windows live mail, and I can not send emails or links I  get and want to send from internet.  I am very unhappy with Microsoft for graying these areas out and taking that service away from their customers.      FIX IT FOR US MICROSOFT WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU DID THIS TO US I AM VERY UPSET.

Hi.  We've upgraded to Windows 8 and have downloaded Windows Live Mail. Emails transferred over without a problem. HOWEVER, we have lost the capability of typing in email addresses and system pulling up all previous addresses, or indeed remembering after typing them in.  Is there a setting we have overlooked but cannot find?

I have 2x 3rd party email accounts mapped to Windows Live Mail:

1) NWlink.com (thru Infinity Internet), POP3 setup

2) Gmail.com, IMAP Setup

I can receive messages fine.

Earlier this year WLM's ability to send just stopped.  I didn't change any settings prior to this happening.

I did some trouble shooting some months ago with no success.

Ideas anyone?

I have Windows Live Mail 2012 and Windows 7. The WLM is not an upgrade--it's what came with Windows 7. I previously had Outlook Express and XP and could send to groups. Now I create a "category," for instance, of 14 members, and when I enter the group name into the "to" field, the program will send to only one member of the group. At first it sent to 3 members. I've tried everything I can think of and everything suggested online, including reparing Windows Essentials. Is this just a fatal flaw of WLM 2012, or is there a fix or work-around? It's really annoying to not be able to use the group function. I have only two groups, but I send to both of them frequently, and it's a major pain to have to look at my list  and enter each name individually each time. I thought of using a different e-mail client, but I used to use Thunderbird and had problems with that, and getting Outlook would cost about $100. (I have Microsoft Office 2010, but it's a version that didn't include Outlook.) If anyone can help me, I will be MOST grateful.

I have Windows Live Mail 2011.  I want to add names to the Birthday Calendar.  The Properties say that if you have birthdays listed with your contact names they will appear on your calendar.

However, they do not.  When I add the names manually they do not show up with the assigned color.  Any ideas?  I feel like I am going around in circles.
