I am using Windows 8.1 and Windows Live Mail.  I used to be able to see my contacts list when I pressed the contacts icon at the lower left of the screen.  Suddenly I cannot.  The contacts still exist, because I can start a new email and type in a contact and whichever one I type can be entered on the "To" line.  If I then double click it, the contact info screen appears and I can see all the info.  If I use the People icon on the start screen, I see a contact list, but it does not show recent changes.  Did I do something inadvertently to cause this?  How can I make the feature work again?

I have a new computer with windows 8.1.

I had the tech set up my old windows live mail  (Verizon account) on my new computer.  I also set it up in Outlook. The (Verizon mail account) in windows live mail  worked great for a while. I am now having problems with my windows live mail. Sometimes it works other times it is hung up on receiving messages and I never receive them.

But, if I go to the Outlook account I can see the mail, and if I go to my providers website I can see the mail. But it won't download in Windows Life Mail.

Hi
I had a glitch of some sort. I use Windows 7 Pro and  Windows live mail. After an update for Windows 7, I could not connect to the Verizon serer. I got that fixed but in the process,  I lost all the messages in my inbox and then verizon in an attempt to help, removed all my sent messages as well.

I can see them in files on the computer but I cannot open them with Windows live mail from there. I can open them in Outlook but its a trial version. When I try to import from Windows live mail folder to Windows live mail it says I cannot because Windows Live or another program is using them. How do I get around that and reinstall my inbox messages and sent box messages?
Here's where I found them C:\Users\Karen\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\verizon\Inbox    But I cannot just import them. Same with the Sent Box. My storage folders remain intact so I don't want to uninstall in reinstall Windows Liive Mail.

Any help appreciated.
I am using Windows live mail. Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205) The operating system is Windows 7 and my default internet option is chrome.
The tab to allow me to work offline is no longer working as it should.
I have no problems sending or receiving mail from any of my accounts. Windows live mail is generally in online mode.
The issue is that sometimes I like to work in the offline mode and the tab in the tool bar no longer works. (does not change to - go online- when activated)
The page tells me ( in the lower right corner that I am offline) but as soon as I send an e-mail it automatically goes online. If I was in offline mode then this should not happen?
How do I re-activate this option to work off-line.
Would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Can I get Photo Gallery and Movie Maker without updating WLMail?  I have Windows 8.1 and WLMail 2011.

Thank you.

When a message in Windows Live Mail asks that I continue further and I attempt to download their message I get a notice saying

"There was a problem sending the command" and I cannot go any further.  For instance in the e-mail I received asking me to clarify my first message I could

not answer because it would not go through.

I set up an alias to use specifically for business purposes. It is linked to my primary personal live mail account and I use Windows Live Mail to manage my multiple e-mail accounts. I cannot get the personal and business e-mail addresses to function separately. My mail sent from the business address gives the personal address as the return address. Online searches refer me to Outlook. I do not use Outlook. I do not want to us Outlook.

Objectives:
Mail sent from my personal email address to list the sender as me by name.
Mail sent from my business email address to list the sender as my business name.
Mail sent from my personal email address to reply only to my personal email address.
Mail sent from my business email address to reply only to my business email address.
Mail sent to my personal email address to only go into my personal e-mail in box.
Mail sent to my business email address to only go into my business e-mail in box.

Any help would be appreciated
Hello
We have a society newsletter and we cannot seem to get Windows Live Mail, that comes with Windows 8.1, to send out to the category (group) of 45. We have a Shawmail account and we had no trouble before switching to a new computer, even when moments later we sent out a second message on the same day because we forgot to attach the newsletter.
Just wondering if there is a limit to the # of emails in a category or if anybody has a resolution to make this work.
Thanks

Using email @prodigy.net for years.  No longer work with Live Mail.  Changed to the new settings (which by the way work with Outlook that is used at my workplace) and I keep getting the error below.  Doesn't like port 465 nor the 'inbound.att.net setting?   Also my Live Mail seems to want to go to incoming server setting 25?  Please Help!

Unable to send or receive messages for the Prodigy (JXXXXXXXX) account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'inbound.att.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

I would like to know if Windows Live Mail is available to download/install for VISTA sp2 OS.  I know that v 2011 is no longer available, but what about v 2012
I would like to know because I am having problems with Live Mail and setting up Live Mail to my verizon, net mail service on a new Win 7 sp1 desktop, and thought if I could get it on my VISTA laptop, I might get more insight  on Live Mail.
