I have a new computer with windows 8.1.

I had the tech set up my old windows live mail  (Verizon account) on my new computer.  I also set it up in Outlook. The (Verizon mail account) in windows live mail  worked great for a while. I am now having problems with my windows live mail. Sometimes it works other times it is hung up on receiving messages and I never receive them.

But, if I go to the Outlook account I can see the mail, and if I go to my providers website I can see the mail. But it won't download in Windows Life Mail.

I got word that my email was hacked and people were getting emails from me that I did not send.  I checked my email and this is the message I get and keep getting:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Verizon (sprakers) account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'incoming.yahoo.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10061

Originally I went to Verizon.net to address the hacking.  I opted to change my password but now I am locked out of the website.

Help!!!!

Desktop system  |  Windows 7 Ultimate  |  Outlook 2013  |  Verizon as ISP

I finally migrated over to MS Outlook 2013 and setup my email accounts: outlook.com and a verizon.net. Even though I purchased the software a while ago, I just now decided to cut over from Live Mail to Outlook.

Problem - I can receive emails, but cannot send emails. When I send an email from Verizon.net account a message comes back instantaneously "System Administrator, Undeliverable". When I send a message from outlook.com account, it simply stays in my Outbox like a dead fish.

Verified with Verizon that their settings are OK and everything working fine on their end. I have Norton Antivirus and chatted with someone there and it doesn't seem to be anything on their end.

Here are my details for verizon.net account setup:

Account Type: POP3

Incoming mail server: pop.verizon.net

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net

Check mark on "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)

Outgoing server tab - Check on "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", check on "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"

Advanced tab - Incoming server {POP3) = 995, check on "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL), Outgoing server (SMTP) = 465, Use the following type of encrypted connection = SSL

Can someone please help? Greatly appreciate it.

It was working fine but then it stopped after some Microsoft updates. I've called Dell & Verizon and they both say it's a Microsoft "patch" issue. I've verified all the settings and they are correct. The "requires server authentication" box is checked also. I can receive emails just fine. When I finish an email and go to send it, it just sits in the outbox. If I click on the outbox and hit the "send/receive" button, it will send it but I shouldn't have to do that. Verizon is my email provider, btw...

Has anyone experienced when the new update for the iphone was applied a few weeks did any one experience their email inbox showing thousands of emails?

When I installed the update shortly after, that day, emails I had deleted showed up and my inbox on my Iphone 4 showed that I had 4000 or more emails in my inbox. When I went to Verizon thinking that it was my phone the salesperson told me it had nothing to do with the phone or provider because he already had 3 people come in with the same problem. He said the problem appeared to be connected with the Hotmail acct.

I can no longer access my Verizon account through WLM. WLM only downloads Verizon emails when I reboot my computer. Is this a corrupt registry file and if so is there a fix?
I use Verizon as my ISP and Windows Live Mail for email.  I don't receive the same emails on my laptop thru Windows Live Mail as I do on my phone thru Verizon.
I have the following setup:

ISP:  Verizon
Email Provider:  GoDaddy
Outlook 2011, version 14.3.7

My email was working fine last week.  This week, I have been having problems sending emails and it has been getting worse and worse each day.  Any time I try to send an email, it gets stuck in my Outbox.  I get the following Error:

Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct.

Below that, under the Details Tab, it says

Mail could not be sent.
Account Name:  "my account name"

Error Code:  -3176

I contacted Verizon, who verified my connection was fine.  I contacted GoDaddy who confirmed my settings were proper and that I can send email using their account if I log in to my webmail.

Sometimes the emails will finally just be released from the outbox.  Sometimes I have to hit "Send/Receive All" about 40 times.  Other times, it has helped to close out of Outlook and start it again.  I have rebooted my computer a number of times, but that does not seem to help.  Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.
