I had a notification in the systray a couple of hours ago that Live Essentials had an update. I ran this but noticed as soon as it had installed that the Live Mail icon disappeared from the taskbar. I can not access my Windows Live Mail at all. There is a blank file icon in the programs list but it will not open. I have tried a system restore but that will not complete, says a file is in use/disable AV. I have disabled my AV and system restore will still not complete even in safe mode., tried a few different restore points.
I have run a full AV scan and a malware scan with Malwarebytes, all clear. I reinstalled Windows Essentials ( it says I have the latest version anyway) but I still cannot run Live Mail.
Was there an update to Windows Essentials today or was it bogus?
Recently all websites became infested with ad popups and rogue "off" sites
Google became unusable.
Why does Windows Essentials Malware Management fail to catch these?
Malwarebytes did, found over 100 "badguys to delete" and did so.
PC seems back to normal now
Windows essential quarantine folder was empty. Nothing caught prior to Malwarebytes
Hello
Since a recent update to Windows Essentials I find that Windows Live Mail is failing to sync my emails and results in Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003. It continually attempts to sync my calendar and does not get as far as syncing emails. Having searched the support community I have tried a few things such as re-installing and also removing / adding my email details again but to no avail. Several threads suggest this is remedied by actions on the email account itself that would need to be done by those managing the Windows Live mail services. Is that correct and can you please fix my account also? Email in Outlook.com are unaffected. I'm running Windows 8.
Many Thanks

try to update the driver for your video card if Movie Maker still doesn't start." I have a Dell Inspiron N4110 that runs Windows 7. I have done any and all updates to no avail. The older version that was on my laptop when I got it a couple years ago worked just fine and then I went to Windows Essentials to update. I have installed and uninstalled Movie Maker three times. Has anyone found a solution that will correct this problem? It is very frustrating.
I have just switched to a computer I built last year. 6Tb storage. Solid state C: drive for windows 7 only. I cannot use Office 2007 of which we have 4 copies due to unknown error. I think it wants to install on C: drive. Have solved that by changing to Apache Open Office.
Tried to get Mail to handle emails but Windows Essentials reports error 0x80040705 source dotNet40. I can drop our Virgin Media mail supplier for GMail I suppose, but that will cause major problems for our Charity. Can anyone show how to direct some of these programs where to install?
Many thanks to anyone who can assist us!
