I keep failing to download Windows Essentials with the following error message: 0x80040704 source: D3DX10_42. Can any body help please?

Why does movie maker get to 43% and then stop working. I saved 5 movies just prior to this successfully and now it wont do anymore. I tried some of the fixes posted here but failed. I'm running version 2012 build 16.4.3528.0331. The movies all average
about 7 minutes each. The files I'm using are .jpg mp3 mp4 and effects from movie maker. Nothing out of the ordinary. I did notice in the control panel/programs and features/uninstall that there is a Windows essentials media codec pack 3.6 that was installed
in 12/6/2011 but I ran the repair option on the version 'm running right now (version 2012 build 16.4.3528.0331) and it says repair was successful. Please help me.
I'm using Windows Live Mail on Windows 8.1. Everything was working fine, but in the last two weeks, I have noticed that ICS Calendar attachments do not show up. In the Inbox list, there is a paperclip icon next to the senders name, but the email itself is totally empty. I seem to remember a recent Windows Essentials update happening - I'm wondering if it's related.

Have you gone to Control panel, Programs and Features, clicked on Windows Essentials, clicked Uninstall/Change, Repair..... ?
this does not work. uninstalled windows live/ does not work after re-install, tried the fix programs/all they want is to pay for their product. put in fix it/it does not. tried go back to an earlier date/does not work, even when they say its a virus. proved them wrong as did not have windows live running in laptop as main computer was always running windows live. still have the error code 0x800488eb and no one has a sensible working answer to fix this???????

I have read and followed all the suggestions posted and still have the problem. after i repaired windows essentials i reconfigured my email account. now when i add my email account and click on it iget a blue banner at the top of the window stating " syncing
this account check back in a few minutes to read your messages" i left it once for 24 hours and it never did sync. i have reconfigured my account at least a dozen times now and the results are the same. i have two other accounts on the system both are imap
in and smtp out. they work fine. can you help?
I installed Windows Essentials and now Windows Live Mail won't send/receive. I'm running on Windows 7. I can see the new mail when I go to outlook.com.
I get this error message:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account.

We have 2 Live Mail accounts on one pc. Suddenly one of them is having trouble sending messages (all types) . They get stuck in the Outbox. To get them sent I have to log off and log back in, and when I do the messages are sent from the Outbox as I open Live Mail. This means I can only send messages when I have freshly signed on.......after that they stick. I have tried using the repair function on Windows essentials and also resetting Internet Explorer (someone recommended this). Makes no difference if the messages have attachments or not. It happens to all types.
Any ideas?
I have uninstalled windows essentials 2011 and the installed 2012 still unable to set up my msn.com email account in windows live mail.
What are the in coming and out coming servers for msn.com account in WLM. I found a click "here" link in support for server settings but when I clicked it it said could internet explorer could not connect to windows live support .
I have removed and added msn.com account 3 times, still does not work.
I can access my account through outlook but not windows live which I prefer. Other accounts (Hotmail) work in live just not msn.com account

The windows live mail 'red flags' are flashing/flickering randomly. This started a few days ago. I am running Windows 8.1. All software is up to date and I have right clicked on Windows Essentials in Programs and done a repair etc, which has not helped.
Any advice would be great...thx
