I am not able to open any application of windows essentials i.e. live mail, movie maker, writer etc. in Windows 8.1 pro. After double click on live mail or movie maker nothing will happen, no error or error code will generate. i tried repair and uninstall
and re-install it but the problem is same. kindly help.

confusion with WLPG and/ or difficulty in downloading it
- Can you tell me the significance of the apparent name change to Photo Gallery and why it has been made and what are the benefits for the user?
- How does Windows Essentials relate the PG? What does Windows Essentials provide/ support other than PG and Movie Maker?
- I have Build 16.4.3508.205. Am I missing any new functions that I should be teaching? For instance Collage is very popular (as are Fuse and Panorama). Are there any new features available?
- If I or my students press the download button at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/photo-gallery#photogallery=overview will that automatically update the PG version I or the students have on their PC. NB I notice Collage is not mentioned on that site

I am having this problem since fixing a Windows boot problem. I downloaded the wlarp and ran it with the cleanup option and then reinstalled
Windows essentials 2011. Problem still exists. Any thoughts?
I have Win7 Home Premium and the Live Mail quit working. I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Live Essentials 2012. When I click on the icon it will not open the program. I have tried to "repair" in the control panel. It did not make any difference. When I look at the Task Manager wlmail.exe*32 is running under processes but under applications there is no application running. I have also tried to right click and "run as administrator" to no avail. Any idea will be appreciated.
I am also having trouble with windows mail not opening. I click on windows mail and the little blue circle goes round but not opening. I have uninstalled it twice but too no avail. I have also tried the following but no avail
1. Uninstall Windows Essentials using CMD Line Parameter.
2. Delete the Windows Live folders (if any) found on the following directories:
- C:\Program Files\Windows Live
- C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live
3. Download Windows Essentials and install.

I installed Windows Live Mail through Windows Essentials months ago but I uninstalled it soon after because it wasn't letting me log in.
I'm trying to install it now (I need it for work), but whenever I run the installer it shows that Mail is still installed. No trace of the software anywhere. I've tried all solutions I could find on the internet but still no luck.
Any quick help will be greatly appreciated as I need this for my work. Thank you!

I have just recently downloaded and installed the Windows Essentials 2012 but limited it to the Photo Viewer and Movie Maker only. I can't seem to locate it. I'm certain that it was successfully installed since i can look it up at the installed programs
(Control Panel/uninstall program). I have Windows 8.1 64-bit and my laptop meets the system requirements for the installation. I'm not very good with this new OS, as i'm pretty attached to my old Windows 7 which i don't have access to at the moment. LOL. so
