My WMP was crashing every time I performed an action on it, so I opened up the file location and deleted it completely. Shortly after, I remembered that I should uninstall it from the programs list, but when I clicked it, WMP and windows essentials were not there.
Afterwards, when I tried to download windows essentials again, it says that all of the programs are already on my computer! It's not letting me download it again at all and this is really annoying for me because I want to use WMP
Any help with this? I have Windows 8.1
My transition animations suddenly disappeared two days ago and no matter how many times i uninstall or repair windows essentials they keep disappearing. I need to finish this video asap. And that is incorrect about being different transitions available at different clip sections. I have been using WLMM for over a year and all transition animations are available on every clop. As you can see I have absolutely none, bringing this project to a standstill.

I have the same problem! All of a sudden my live account doesn't work with Windows Essentials. I have tried readding the account and it still doesn't work.

I have been trying to install Windows Essentials on a brand new HP Elitebook 8470p for 2 days now and keep getting this error message.  I have checked the firewall and it is on.  I have even turned it off and retried the installation to no avail.  Can someone help me, please?

Thanks

I can't go offline from the IE 11 windows screen file or tools button( no option offered) or in Windows live mail from the off/online button.  I ran SFC, windows essentials repair and set IE to default values - no luck.  I am online all the time and can't get off to stop mail from downloading.  What else can I do?
I am unable to send emails from any of my sub accounts in Windows Live Mail 2011.  Had been working fine for years.  Spent hours with Time Warner today only for them to finally tell me that it is a Live Mail issue.  I can log onto their website and send/receive mail fine.  I can do the same from my I-Phone.

I have gone into My Computer, Programs, and tried fixing Windows Essentials.  I have deleted old emails and rebooted, etc.  I have tried turning off my Avast anti-virus software and have changed both the servers and ports while trouble shooting with Time Warner.  Below is a copy of the error message I receive when I try to send an email from any of the accounts in Live Mail.

The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***', please contact your email service provider.

I would greatly appreciate help in resolving this issue.

Thank you!

Hello,
I am currently trying to use wmm from windows essentials. Seems pretty easy, but it would be nice if there were a video that showed you how to make a video from start to finish. I am going to train total newbies, so I want a simple program. and right now I am finding by hunt and peck my way, but I am sure there is a smoother, and more efficient, and simpler way to make a video.
Regards,
Millard

I'm trying to download Windows Essentials, in particular Photo Gallery and get the following error message: error: 800440705. Source: D3DX10_42.  Can any body help?

Colin Keeper.

I have a new (one month old) HP desk top running Windows 8. Downloaded Live Mail which worked fine for about 3 weeks. After Live Mail wouldn't start (little blue circle next to "starting" and stuck there) I decided to uninstall the program and start over. Went to the Microsoft Download Center and tried to download Live Mail (Essentials) Got "box" that said "Installing Windows Live Essentials 2011" with a % complete indicator. It came to a standstill at 99% (a half dozen times). Nothing short of starting the task manager and ending the program (Windows Live Installer - 32bit) would work. Went to Windows Essentials and tried again. Got a "box" that said "preparing to install Essentials 2012" with the little green bar chasing itself across the screen. Wouldn't do anything else. I'm at my wits end with this thing.  HELP! Did I mention I hate Windows 8? Give me version 7 any day.

Dave G.

I have Windows 8.1.  I had downloaded Windows Essentials 2012 last year.  Now my Windows Live Mail program is stuck on "work offline".
I have IE 11 which does not offer the "work offline" option in the File drop down menu.
I've tried "repairing" Windows Essentials 2012.

How do I switch it back to working online?

Thank you.
