My provider Talktalk helped me set up my emails on my new PC.  We have set it up on Windows Live Mail.  It was previously on Outlook.

Although we can send and receive emails we can't find the 'sent items' folder anywhere and therefore don't have any record of them.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Paul Sherry

I am A Student at University and am unable to send any emails from my talktalk account while I can receive without any trouble.

This error appears within about 1 sec of me pressing 'send and receive':

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Subject: [Subject]
Server: 'smtp.talktalk.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10053

I have tried changing the port and unticking/ticking this requires secure connection and have tried disabling my firewall.

I am 99% sure it is related to the University's Servers and not my Laptop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi folks, relative novice here

I recently bought a new Dell desktop and upgraded to Windows 8.1. I successfully transferred all e-mails and contacts from Outlook Express. I can send and receive e-mails BUT, when I try to send an e-mail with an Excel (.xls) attachment to 7 recipients, it just seems to disappear into the ether. When I phone any of the 7, they have not received it.

I get no error messages, the file goes into the Sent box in Windows Live Mail.

I've checked all the e-mail addresses.

When I go into Talktalk webmail, I managed to send the same e-mail with attachment to 3 of the 7 as a test.

I can successfully send the e-mail with the attachment to my wife, using WLM. It is received back on the same PC.

I am bewildered - the problem seems to be about multiple recipients, rather than the attachment.

Can anyone throw any light on this? I was making good progress with the new PC until this point, but have spent hours on the web and on the phone to Talktalk without resolution.

It would be greatly appreciated.
I use Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail.  Two e-mail addresses(@ Tiscali) are receiving and sending mail with no problem BUT I have just added another email to my account (@ Talktalk) and keep getting the error messages Server Error 0x800CCC90, Server response -ERR Authentification failed and Windows Live Mail Error ID 0x800CCC92.  Help please - I know that the password I put in is correct.

Can anyone help with this please?

I would like to receive my talktalk webmail through windows live but cannot work out how to do it.

Setting up new laptop on windows 8 -I can't get my talktalk email recognised by outlook. Talktalk have instructions including port codes for an IMAP account and I've carried out the entries as required but Outlook doesn't recognise them. The data on my old laptop shows my email was originally set up in 2008 as a POP3.  How do I sort it?

Hi All

Not sure if I'm in the right place, But here goes : I'm trying to setup TalkTalk with Mail APP but unable to make it work, with the setting I have from TT it will receive mail but unable to send That is with the TalkTalk settings as follows:

IMAP

Login Name : *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Incoming mail server : mail.talktalk.net

Incoming port : 143

Outgoing mail server : smtp.talktalk.net

Outgoing Port : 587

Outgoing SSL : yes

Outgoing Authentication : yes

If I can not use that setting, the POP3 only the ports are different.

Incoming Port : 110

Outgoing Port : 587  ( sorry the same )

I tried by Add your other account :

Email address: Me******@talktalk,net

Username : *********

Password : **********

Incoming : mail.talktalk.net  Port 143

Outgoing : smtp.talktalk.net Port 587

Outgoing SSL : yes

Outgoing Auth : yes

use the same user name & password to send & receive email: yes

That is the setup look forward to your reply. If I have the wrong place can you put me in

the right place.   Best regards Keith..

I am a UK user with TALKTALK using HTC Desire X Android Version 4.1.1 HTC Sense version 4+

New phone received Wednesday 31st July. Installed apps including Outlook.com from google site. Set up okay  Able to receive send synchronise contacts when on wifi (which is perfect) and emails received instantly but get nothing at all when using mobile data only.  It will say the last time it connected to my Hotmail account but refuses to sync even when I press the refresh button manually.  I tried to open a very long message and pressed the link (read full 16.00B) and got connection error.

gmail works with no problems at all sending and receiving email using mobile data, I can also search the web and download apps using mobile data.

I reset to factory settings and reinstalled only outlook.com from the google site just in case other apps were interfering but still have the same problems.

I would appreciate any help please.

Linda

For some weeks now I have not been able to receive emails to my Tiscali address in Outlook. These emails do appear in TalkTalk Web Mail and in Mozilla.
I can send emails from my Tiscali alias.

Emails are received in Outlook addressed to my Gateway and Hotmail aliases.

Can anyone suggest a resolution?

I have Windows Live Mail and cannot now access my TALKTALK accounts - it keeps saying the passwords are incorrect, which they are not.

I can access the same accounts via webmail  and my IPod and it accepts the passwords OK.

I have reset the accounts in Live Mail and run Repair via Control Panel for Windows Essentials 2012.

TALKTALK say it is not their problem if I can access the accounts via web mail.

The problem did not exist before I tried to access the TALKTALK accounts whilst their server was down.

I am using a POP3 access and have the correct incoming and outgoing mail server names, which have not changed since it was working.

In fact it is working OK for the SMTP outgoing mail side; only the receiving side is not working.

Old Title: Winlows Live Mail will now not accept the valid passwords for my TALKTALK accounts, following their server problems
