I would  greatly appreciate finding a permanent solution to the on-going issue of the time (latency - spinning color wheel) between the key stroke and seeing the word on screen. This constant problem is making  'Outlook' unusable.  I have no other issues with any other Office program - only Outlook. I was advised to change the user profile to a new one, this was effective for several months but has slowly slipped back to now seeing the spinning wheel between whole sentences between typing and seeing the words on screen. I have changed my habits and switched to Thunderbird, not happy about being forced to move my email program because of this problem. Please assist. Thank you.
I have consistently had this same problem since installing Office for Mac 2011.
I should have use the help line when it was free.

Problem: When writing an email in Outlook, I constantly see the spinning wheel in between each key stroke. This spinning wheel caused a latency of from 3 to 10 seconds between each key stroke. It's driving me crazy and I have all but abandoned Outlook for other email programs. I visited the Outlook 2011 Forum but with no solution. I have checked "rules" I have deleted all the caches using "Cocktail". It looks like Outlook is looking for something between or checking for something with each key stroke.
I get a spinning wheel every time I try to move from one item to another in my inbox.  It may last up to 60-90 seconds.  I'm also noticing sluggish behavior on other Office programs.  Excel takes 60 seconds or more to load.  I apparently have the most recent software update.  Any suggestions?

Hi All,

All of a sudden I have been experiencing a prolonged spinning wheel when working in Microsoft Outlook 2011 for MAC. It seems to only occur when working in Outlook and takes about 45 seconds until the wheel stops.

I have checked for recent updates, cleaned my desktop, archived emails, cleared my browser cache, and went to the Apple Genius bar to see if there is a hardware problem. Nothing has resolved this problem.

Here is some information about my computer:

I am working with a MacBook, OSX v 10.5.8.

Please let me know if you need more relevant information.

Thanks in advance.
