Hello,

I recently got a new Windows 8.1 system, but needed an eMail client that was compatible with my ISP's mail servers.  Windows Live Mail was the recommended solution.  I have been using Outlook Express 6, so Live Mail is fairly close... but I've already run into several things that are rather serious disadvantages for me under Live Mail:

  1. The spelling checker does nothing.  (It is on the toolbar, but always grayed out.  I even set the option to always check spelling before sending messages, but it still does nothing).  How do I get the spelling checker to work?
  2. I cannot find how to request read receipts for specific sent messages.  Is this read receipt function available in Live Mail, and if so, how do I access it?  (The only options I found only allow the request of read receipts for ALL sent messages, but I only want to do them on some messages).
  3. Each Email account has its own separate set of folders (Inbox, Sent, Junk, etc.).  I prefer to have the messages from all accounts go into one common set of folders - like they do in Outlook Express 6.  How can I set this up?
  4. Can the Junk Mail folders be eliminated and have all messages come into the Inbox(s) instead?  If so, how?
  5. When I reply to messages, it always applies the eAddress of my default eMail account as the return address - instead of applying the eAddress of the account that the message came in on.  How can I make it automatically use the account that the message was sent to?  (Outlook Express 6 did this automatically).

TIA...

The spelling checker in Outlook automatically checker changes 'be' to Be' and 'was' to 'Wass'. How can I change this, please?

Regards, CCAC.
Hi,

I have installed Microsoft office mac 2011 on my apple laptop last year. Yesterday, when I tried to open an existing word doc and try to do a spelling and grammar check it says "Word cannot start the spelling check. The spelling checker files may be missing. Make sure the spelling checker file are installed or use the Microsoft office Installer to install the spelling checker." I can't exit out after this pop up appears the only way to exit is to force quit on my apple computer.
Please let know why this is happening and how I can possibly fix it.

Thanks!
