When outlook forced me to change from hotmail - all my personal folders were lost. Then no longer shop up on the side...I have looked everywhere...the emails in these folders were not current but ones I never wanted to delete. please help.

I cannot figure out to create personal folders for outlook on my Mac. Under the "File" folder, the New is greyed out so I cannot access it
My folders attached to my outlook account have vanished and the mail within them - I have not deleted them, they have vanished
I have only the basic folders left
how do I get them back ? this is very important ?
I have recently set up SkyDrive accounts for my wife and children to keep their personal folders synced between our desktop and laptop. With 2 of the 3 accounts I ran into issues where the update process would get stuck at "Processing changes" but in both
cases I was able to disconnect SkyDrive and resolve file conflicts and get the sync to go through eventually. With the 3rd account I am having no luck though. The personal folders for this 3rd account were more or less empty and they synced up fine at first
but when I started adding music (mp3) and video (mp4) files, it would get stuck at "Processing changes". I disconnected SkyDrive, and deleted the files that would not sync and did a few trials with Word docs and pdf files and they synced just fine, but for
some reason, music and videos would not. I wondered if it was just specific media files, but I tried a bunch of random mp3 and mp4 files and all of them had the same result. I even went so far as to completely uninstall SkyDrive and reinstall and still have
the same result. I tried all if the suggested solutions in the many threads on the "stuck processing changes" threads but nothing is working. At this point I am pretty frustrated as SkyDrive is essentially useless until this is resolved.
I have two calendars in Outlook 2010, each says Personal Folders at the side of it. I can't delete either of them. Unfortunately one of them syncs with my laptop through Code 2 Outlook Sync but the other syncs with my Samsung Galaxy S3 through Kies. I
can't get either of these to sync with the other outlook folder. Has anyone any ideas please? At the moment I'm copying each entry across to both calendars, but that's hardly a long term solution.
It has taken me this long to write because I assumed that this problem would resolve Itself after a while but unfortunately It hasn't.
As much as I would love to vent my anger on the big wigs or decision makers for making this transition without adequate support. I am just going to detail what my problem is and hopefully get a resolution.

I have created a lot of what you will call personal folders ( pst) within the online version ( I go to msn.com and click on mail to logon) I am trying to make sure that YOU are not confused with webmail.
After the sudden switch to Outlook.com emails from those folders are missing and the ones in my Inbox only go back a few months.
I have my email set up on my Iphone and Windows 8 computer mail app( IMO- You really should have kept W8 as a Tablet/Phone OS) and left Windows 7 as is !!!!. Hate Vista and 8..Love XP and 7.
After a lot of tweaking and reading I discovered that I have a POP inbox however I am still missing email from my sub folders which I need restored as soon as possible.

My email ID is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I am unable to see old email, old sent items, personal folders. July 12 2013 i have changed my password. I am logging on to the account from my home PC and will have the same IP. After i logged on to my account i am unable to find the old emails. Citi folder , MA folders and personal folders . All the old sent items are also not availble. Please could you recover the old email and also the relevant folder.
