Adding email account to Windows 8 Phone with domain hosted through Outlook.com doesn’t work!

25. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account, Outlook account, personal account, Windows Phone

I have two emails; one is "me"@outlook.com which is my personal account and my Microsoft Account login. This was easy to add to Windows phone and syncs without issues. My other account is "me2"@"mydomain".com. "Mydomain" is hosted through Outlook.com.

With my Windows 8 phone, I have tried adding as a Microsoft account, an Outlook account, a Hotmail account, and just "other account" by entering a number of different server names, etc.

Nothing works. I have an old domain hosted through Gmail which was easy to add and doesn't have any issues.

...And before someone tells me I should post in the Windows Phone forum....Already did, they said to post here. Also, my site is hosted through GoDaddy; I have other sites hosted through GoDaddy with email hosted through Gmail and I have no problems!

Thanks for your help!

Password Reset

I have two x-box accounts on two different microsoft accounts that I no longer use.  I have forgotten the passwords to those two old accounts.  I have gamertag L1TTLEJOHN19 on my old sympatico *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, and the second gamertag LITTLEJ0HN8 on my old *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.  Since the security upgrades, both consoles require to be signed in to the microsoft account which I cannot do.  I do not want to loose these accounts and the credits and games associated to these gamertags.

Child Registration

I've been trying to register my child's microsoft account for 3 days. Every time it asks for me to sign in and verify my age, and I enter my credit card info and click ok. Then, this error pops up: "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later." I've tried again later countless times and talked to 4 microsoft support agents but none have helped. I tried changing web browsers, changing my account security, and entering different credit cards to no success. How do I get past this issue?

I want to close my microsoft account and my former hotmail email address. Everytime I click on cancel account in my settings and type in my password it comes up with 'server is down' please please please I want to close my account ASAP as I got hacked a year ago and I did close my account then but its still open and still receiving emails and I am not happy with how I have no privacy or security with hotmail/outlook. I should have a right to close my account for good and not have to worry about this however, its appalling how I have no control over this and anyone can hack into my own account. I want my account closed that it all. Please assist me.

I'M new to Windows 8 and was told by a Microsoft technician that my Microsoft account was inactive. Could you activate my

account and tell me my old password so I can access my apps on my start page or fix it so I can create a new password.

                                                                              Much Thanks,

                                                                          Bill Obenauer

P.S.-- When I used my Verizon.net e-mail address to create a new account it said it was inactive.

When I used my Verizon.net e-mail address to access an app from my Start page,

every password I knew was incorrect. I'm not sure if I used to have an account with Microsoft.

Cannot stop Outlook.com emails being forwarded to Gmail.com

My Outlook.com emails are being forwarded to Gmail.com account. Need help in stopping this.

Few days back after switching from Hotmail.com to Outlook.com, I decided to 'add an alias'.

https://account.live.com/AddAssocId

I chose 'Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias' and added my Gmail.com email id as an alias. It then redirected me to 'Trueswitch.com' page where I entered all the required details. Since then all emails are being forwarded to my gmail email account as soon as they arrive in my Outlook.com email account. I want to stop these emails being forwarded to Gmail now. Please suggest.

What I already tried:
1. Checked 'Outlook.com Inbox>Options>Email forwarding' in 'More mail settings'. I have not set up email forwarding there.
2. Checked 'Gmail.com > Settings > Accounts >Check mail from other accounts (using POP3)'. I have not setup checking email from other accounts via POP in Gmail.
3. Removed my Gmail.com alias from Outlook.com.
4. Contacted Trueswitch. They asked me to change the passwords of both my gmail and Outlook.com account. Didnt help. Emails are still being forwarded to Gmail.
5. Trueswitch finally asked me to contact Microsoft support, as Trueswitch is now shut and provide minimal support.

Xbox Live Proofs/Microsoft Account locked out

Was advised to post here in reference to my XBOX Live account get NOTORIOUS.

I received a message on my console sent from Live yesterday regarding the Beta reward. I followed the instructions on the message and was unable to sign into the email part of my Microsoft account although I did have access to my XBOX Live account and was connected to the service. I attempted my secret answer and was unsuccessful. This email was created before mobile proofs where I could receive a text message with my mobile phone. I also attempted the recovery process several times but apparently I'm not able to provide enough information. I called Support (18004MYXBOX) and attempted to get more information on how to fill out the form. The agent informed me she would escalate to your security team and I would receive a response in 5-7 business days.

There was only one credit card tied to the account and that was called in and removed after a 30 day process prior to 2012. The card is cancelled and I no longer can provide that information other than the full name on the card. Also I use prepaid 3 month xbox live cards but the card my account is currently using has been thrown away and your support team wouldn't provide the last 5 digits of the prepaid code nor could I pull it up through my xbox live account. No emails ever sent from that account. I can provide previous reference #'s and the previous security question. Why in the recovery process does it not ask for the phone number associated with the account, street address, etc. I can provide every last piece of information with anything tied to my XBOX Live account but can't provide the password or security question I chose over a year ago.

I have maybe used my email/password to login into my email, twice and the only reason they were created were so I could begin enjoying the XBOX Live service. Now after 5 years of my console always having this gamertag signed on automatically without asking for password it's locked me out and requiring a password that I honestly don't remember. Same with the security question. I've tried and tried and tried. I don't know wait to do, the questions on the recovery form are so narrow so basic it doesn't cover the close to 6 years I've had my account. No emails were sent, no folders created, no card on the account, but I'm on my XBOX. I know the history of the entire account on the service. I have reference #'s from past calls to support, I know the previous secret answer, I know the DLC I've bought, the different name changes on my gamertag,  the digital games I've bought, I know my friends list,  I know my contact information, these are things I can provide with 100% accuracy.

Are there next steps? Is my account now lost? I can provide anything and everything needed but these questions on the recovery form are very limited and what happens when that form doesn't work?
