My new computer has windows live mail , not Hotmail , so I imported my emails from my an alternative mail account , and used this particular email address as my account in the Account toolbar, in windows live, however because my hard drive was replaced with a new one, I had to download a new windows live into it, as it did not have one , however I set it up in the same way, except with a new password , but there is no email I thought it would be there after the setting, instead I get a message "Unable to send or receive messages for the optusnet.com.au account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'optusnet.com.au'''
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3

Socket Error: 10060

“MISSING EMAIL FROM MY WINDOWS MAIL-HOTMAIL INBOX”.

I just discovered that the welcome message- "Getting started with your mail account", which I received after signing up for my Hotmail account, is missing from my "Windows Mail-Hotmail Inbox". How do I have it back in my "Windows Mail-Hotmail Inbox"? My Hotmail account is "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***"

Help – Auto upgraded to outlook and now cant read mails, open folders or select contacts to send ,mail ! – basically account looks stuffed.

28. March 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: mail account, open folders

hello, only just joined this community and have responded (I think) to someone who seemed to be offering help and suport for issues raised, but not sure how that will work so also raising here as a new question.

I have been auto upgraded to outlook and now my mail account seems completely stuffed. I can sign into it and see my inbox, but I cannot open any of the mails in it, and I cannot open my other folders i.e my saved mails.

additionally, although I can open the send mail function I cannot select anyone from my contact list.

There appears to be an icon on bottom left of screen (orange triangle) indicating error on screen and whilst I probably cant convey them all they seem to be a list of statements or parameters with null values ?

Any help really welcome as this is not a good time to be losing my mail capability.

How to know how much space I have left?

16. February 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: mail account, Manage Folders, Outlook 2010, UI

Greetings community

I had known how to find this particular info before they changed webmail UI, because that info was graphically presented when you login on your account. It was always much more than I had ever needed, and I didn’t care much.

Last few years I was using Office’s Outlook 2010 with connector to manage my Hotmail account. Last several months I started getting lots of emails with large excel files attached. I would like to be sure that my account is not overloaded. At this moment with this “Outlook” like webmail UI I can see nothing. When I login my account, the only info about storage that I can find out is related to something called SkyDrive (7GB), which I don’t use.

I’ve also seen a reply on one similar question, when PA was suggested to look in Manage Folders, but I don’t see that option when I click on the cog icon on the right up corner, nor I see it when I hover the mouse over Folders. Actually I have to right-click on Folders to get any pop-up menu and there are only “Add folder” and “Manage rules”.

Would anyone please tell me how to find out how much space I have left on my mail account? Is there still possibility to find it out?

Thanks for any answer.

outlook 2011 unable to create subdirectory under inbox

30. January 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: environnement, inbox, mail account, mailbox
Hi all,

environnement :
macosx 10.8.2
Outlook 2011
mail account : office365

When I want to create a directory under mailbox or in the same level of inbox, it creates a "no name" directory.
When I want to rename that directory with an other name, it's like I have pressed the enter or the esc key and don't allow me to change something. (or I need to be as fast as superman) :-)

I don't have the problem if I disconnect my exchange office mailbox to be in offline mode.

why and of course how to permit the directory creation in online mode ?

any idea ?

Thanx :)

Suddenly I can't get my Outlook or phone to sync to my Hotmail Account.  Getting error: "There is an error syncronizing your mail account. Please verify your account is configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Error: 4202".

I contacted MS - no help...they had me change my password, still getting the same error...  Help!
