I love my Dad dearly, but he has a bad habit of frequently trying to start a chat with me. Today I just migrated my Live Messenger to Skype. I'd like to add my Dad to my Skype account, because it would be nice to have a vide chat with him, but is it possible to appear off line to some Skype contacts, but appear online to others?

When a person "migrates" from Live Messenger to Skype, what happens to the Categories that were used in the Messenger system ?

Does Skype have a "Category" process ?

Thanks.

Hi, I cant sign in to Live Messenger. It will always pop up an error code 80072745. I tried the troubleshoot and it seems that my default gateway appears to be offline. I tried repairing it but it did not work. Please advise as to what I can do.
I can save live messenger history on my PC but for some reason it's not giving me the option on my Live messenger on the laptop.Do I maybe need to update? Could it be because I am currently using the 'guest' account on the laptop? Any ideas and solutions appreciated

Our offices uses live messenger to communicate. This morning messnger has started freezing up and using 50% system resources. This is really a problem and I hope for a solution very soon.

Thanks,

I have used window messenger with whiteboard at win XP.

But I can't use that after win7. In win 7, window messenger is live messenger, and it has not withebord fuction.

I want to use whitebord fuction on messenger!

After I've changed to Windows 7 Enterprise, Live Messenger stopped working. Troubleshooting shows that key ports is the problem. The only suggested solution that doesn't work is in resetting security.dll. I got 0x80070005 as an error message when I tried to reset wintrust.dll. Any idea on how to fix? Is it related to why Messenger isn't working?
