I work abroad with often a poor Internet connection far to often I get this following email  Hello lee flanaghan, To continue sending messages, please sign in and validate your Outlook.com account. This helps us stop automated programs from sending junk emails. Thanks for your help and patience! The Outlook.com Team. With the poor connection this page does not load up and I am without Internet until I return to the uk which makes it extremely difficult to conduct my work how can I make this stop?
Suddenly I've lost the ability to download any sort of attachments with my Hotmail account.

I've tried 3 Macs using Snow Leopard and Lion, on wireless and wired connections - as well as a PC on a different internet connection.

Have tried Safari & Firefox on the Macs and IE on the PC.

I can view the attachments using "online view" but if I try to download from there I get a message from my browser saying  "You have asked Firefox to connect securely to  dub126.afx.ms, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure."

If I try to download directly from my inbox there is no activity at all.

However, on a different Hotmail account I can download attachments - on the same computers / connections that were previously giving me issues.

So it would seem my particular Hotmail account is giving me issues rather than anything my side.

I have not changed any settings or system recently.

This is crippling my ability to work so I'm a bit desperate...!

Suddenly my hotmail on my computer won't send or receive messages.  My internet connection is fine, and I can get and receive emails on my iphone 4s. I have tried to close out of windows, take the account off and put it back on,  and Ialso tried deleting the majority of the emails from my account because   I was worried I had too many on it.  My iphone email is fine, it is just an issue on my computer.

I am trying to install Skydrive desktop on my PC.  It downloads and installs but when I click "Get Started" I get the error message "There was a problem connecting to Skydrive. Please check your internet connection and try again."  But my internet connection is fine and I can't figure out how to resolve this issue.

Here are my details:

  • The exact error message: There was a problem connecting to Skydrive. Please check your internet connection and try again.
  • The operating system version - Windows 7
  • The CPU or processor - Intel Core 2 CPU Q8300 @ 2.5GH
  • The amount of system memory (RAM) - 4.0 GB
  • The hard disk size and model - Western Digital 640 GB WD6400aaks-22a7b2
  • The version of software or model of hardware that you’re using and that may be related to the problem - ???
  • The version of virus scanner or malware scanner that you’re using - Norton Internet Security
  • The browser: IE10

Thanks in advance for help on this perplexing problem!

I downloaded Photo Gallery and Movie Maker two days ago. Photo Gallery worked fine, but Movie Maker still doesn't start. I have looked through the system requirements: We have Windows 7 32-bit version, 1 GB RAM, 2.20 GHz, Internet Browser is Chrome, Internet connection is broadband, we have DirectX 11 installed, and both Photo Gallery and Movie Maker are downloaded.
As for the internet browser, we also have Firefox 3.0.1. We also have Media Player installed.

I opened Movie Maker, it appeared but it said "Not Responding" and closes, then this message shows up, and says:

"Sorry, Movie Maker can't start. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start Movie Maker again, and then try to update the driver of your video card if Movie Maker doesn't start."

Oh, and just in case this is important, our computer is HP Pavilion a6540d.
Why do I loose my internet connection when I insert a file as an attachment to my outlook email?
I am a Google email user. Trying to use Google Drive to email my daughter some zip photo folders. Internet Connection is asking me about POP "Incoming mail (ie POP3, IMAP, or HTTP server), and Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. I have no idea what this means. Have never used Microsoft email of any type. Please help!!
I do a lot of word processing, both with an internet connection and without one. If I save all of my  files to Skydrive instead of my computer, will I be able to access and edit them without the internet available? If I use the desktop app, will the files I put in it be automatically synced with the skydrive on the cloud? Thanks?
Outlook will grey out and say it lost internet connection and it will recover, It never recovers and locks up.  I have to refresh web browser window to get it to unlock.  This tends to happen mostly when I am composing an email and it saves it to a draft.  This happens on 4 different machines (3 XP, 1 windows 7) and on 2 different web browsers firefox and IE. I have not tried it on any other web browsers or systems.

Original Title: Skydrive broke my internetconnection

I just put a ~70mb file in my skydrive folder and it broke my internetconnection, I have 100mbit fibre... I tried to reboot my computer but I still could'nt browse the web, pages would'nt load and I could'nt find anything wrong. Finally i tried to shut down skydrive because I saw it was syncing and everything went back to normal, I started skydrive again and now it's working fine. Whats the problem?
